Dr. Carson might have a chance of avoiding the 3rd rail of Progressive-Anti-Islamophobia if he could rationally explain why Sharia government in the era of Supreme Court tyranny isn't good for America. But he is too far removed from his Christian history to know how to articulate what he knows intuitively to be true.
Fortunately a man named Robert R. Reilly knows the outline, starting with the principle that you don't go into a war of ideas unless you understand the ideas with which you are at war, and you yourself have an idea. (!) Mr. Reilly, something of an expert as former director of the Voice of America, gives a basic outline of how Islamic legalism strangles its societies' intellectual life.

This starts with the fact that Allah is seen only having supreme, omnipotent Will, without any need of rationality. Therefore, if a piece of cottons is ignited in the presence of a coal, the coal didn't do it as a secondary cause, it was Allah who arbitrarily WILLED it, only directly, there being no physical "nature" of fire. If you question this, you are committing a sacrilege for wanting to take away some of Allah's omnipotence.
Perhaps if Dr. Carson would peruse Mr. Reilly's Closing of the Muslim Mind: How Intellectual Suicide Created the Modern Islamist Crisis, the good Doctor might have a chance of fending off the media fecal blizzard that is creating a rather distracting headwind against his campaign.

I’d like to read the “The Closing of The Muslim Border”
Carson should point to all of the muslim theocracies that treat Christians well and equal.
Well i just heard a scientist unboiled an egg, so........
I’d like to read about the NUKING of the Islamic Shrine..at Mecca
That could be the sequel. In 3D
Shot in NUKE-VISION!
Why does he need to defend his remarks?
lol
Who are you to judge how far removed Dr. Carson is from his Christian history?
Yeah, but they they get their 12th mammy and all that. Just work ‘em up to toss a few more Christians on the barby.
He doesn’t need to defend his comments at all.
Dr. Carson needs to defend nothing. He’s absolutely right - the moslem religion is totally at odds with the Constitution. I would not vote for a moslem for any position within the government, let alone the president.
Who am I to question Dr. Carson? Someone who knows that only God can say when an elderly person should be denied medical treatment. Only God has power over life and death—certainly not mere biomedical technicians who imagine themselves wielding “godlike” power over those “lives unworthy of life”.
Quanelle X - Houston’s overweight version of Sharpton - commented on Carson being a bigot on the news tonight. “That brother just forgot his roots and where he came from”. Pretty funny. Wondered when QX was going to weigh in on Carson going off the plantation.
There is nothing complicated about this. Islam is not only a religion, it is also a political movement. All of its politics depend on adherence to Islam. It is completely incompatible with the US Constitution, which guarantees Freedom of Religion. How can a Muslim president take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, when his own faith will never recognize it?
-— Why does he need to defend his remarks? -—
Exactly. The correct answer is, “Does Hillary believe that Sharia is compatible with the Constitution?”
Too late. He’s been trying to walk it back ever since he made the comment.
