A new report touted by NBC News Maggie Fox makes the claim that the level of firearm ownership can be correlated with homicide deaths of Law Enforcement Officers. More civilian gun ownership in a given area, more dead police. Study authors David Sewedler and David Hemenway would later admit that perhaps this homicide rate was actually driven by criminals. The criminal offender theory draws the not-so-remarkable conclusion that police who have frequent encounters with violent criminals are more likely to be injured or killed. Not all that surprising a proposition, is it?
Of course, gun hating members of the media arent interested in the legitimacy of a study, but in the claims of its authors. In this case, more police are killed in states which have more of those evil guns. Its short, sounds reasonable and is easy to pass off as fact. What could be better!
But why has the media decided to pick yet another nationally syndicated fight with gun owners?
On September 25th of last year, Secretary of State John Kerry-acting on behalf of the president-signed the UNs Global Arms Trade Treaty. Though it has not been ratified by the Senate, Obamas minions traveled to the UN Treaty conference in Mexico on Monday, August 24th.
Its quite clear that the purpose of the Treaty is to disarm civilian populationsthat is, people deemed unauthorized by government officials to possess firearms or ammunition. But the federal government and individual states have attempted to disarm the American people before. Connecticut and New York recently passed legislation requiring owners of assault weapons and large capacity magazines to register these items with the state. It has been widely reported that more than 1 million assault weapon owners in the two states have publicly defied the legislation and...

Civil War Part II
Pretty sure police are injured at a far higher rate by their miffed mistresses than by firearms.
Most firearm deaths of police are either accidents or suicide.
The greatest cause of death for a policeman is traffic accidents wherein the policeman is at fault.
Police kill far more innocent civilians than are police killed by criminals.
Civil War Part II
Indeed.
Make sure addresses of ALL progressives are well known, and guard the airports.
Build guillotines, because only the best should be used on the vermin who fosted this mess upon us.
“Civilian” gun ownership? The police are civilians, too.
Also, this “study” is a load of crap.
I live in Maine, with a population of about 1.2 million people, and the per-capita rate of gun ownership by citizens is through the roof in this state. Constitutional Carry goes into effect in October....Maine citizens will be able to carry a firearm on their person or in their vehicles without a permit.
I’ve been here for 23 years and I can’t recall a police officer being shot and killed in the line of duty.
If this bogus “study” was true, cops would be killed often in Maine, but they are not.
Lots of guns here in WEST Virginia.
Not so much crime. Even the ‘Rats have to pretend to be pro-gun. Sort of. D-bag governor vetoed Constitutional Carry. I expect the next election to go poorly for him.
YOU DON'T SAY!
More civilian gun ownership in a given area, more dead police...
Are Gang Bangers obtaining guns that they OWN legally? I think not!
Notice how they leave out the difference between Legal and Illegal gun ownership!
So here’s the deal: I would rather die with a pile of spent cartridge cases at my feet than submit to what these genocidal monsters have in mind.
This is the foundation for a multi-generational fight to disarm law-abiding Americans.
Today we’d assert that “nobody will take my weapons”, or ask “who would participate in the U.N. Army to disarm us?”.
But, what about 30 to 40 years from now?
We’ve already seen restrictions on transfer, sales, and inheritance of weapons, in certain states.
While compliance may be limited today, that will not sustain itself over time.
The tyrant always fears the slave.
That is because the tyrant does not engage in a mutually beneficial relationship with the slave. The tyrant uses the slave. He steals from the slave. The slave will eventually understand this and an armed slave is always a danger to the tyrant.
The Democrats want to dictate to you. Paying taxes can be mutually beneficial. Say for building roads or defending the country.
Paying taxes so that a Democrat politician can hand that money out to people not because they work for the government, but because they vote for the Democrat politician, is not mutually beneficial. The person paying the taxes receives no benefit in this transaction.
The Democrat politicians have thus become tyrants.....dictators. Taxes, taxation, is not a mutually beneficial exchange. It is a requirement to support tyrants.
It is slavery.
And the tyrants always fear the slaves.....especially armed slaves.
No, the tyrants need to be afraid of the taxpayers.
Maybe they should use their brains if they indeed have any.
A higher gun OWNERSHIP rate will almost always mean a higher STOLEN GUN rate. A higher ownership rate may show a correlation, but that fact is not causality.
Once again, they cannot bring themselves to blame the criminal perpetrators.
I disagree.
Support for gun ownership has increased in recent years.
Open carry is happening in more and more states, and so is Constitutional Carry, Maine being the latest state to join the pack.
If we don’t stop the illegal invasion, however, it’s all a moot point, because in 30 - 40 years there won’t be a Constitution or an America for that matter. The illegal invasion AND unlimited legal immigration from the third world has to be reigned in severely.
Frankly, it would be mass-murder of the citizens by our government if this were to happen.
We will not back down from a tyrannical government, no matter who, what, or where the government is located.
If guns are responsible for the homicide rate, what’s responsible for the rate of rapes? And shall Americans also be relieved of that tool?
Policing isn't as dangerous as a whole lot of every day jobs we the people do.
