MICHAEL SAUSAGE AND THE SAUSAGE RATION TALK RADIO SHOW - An Imagining

Jes’ sayin’….

Mihael Sausage, of the famed “Sausage Ration”, when he holds it and himself together long enough, is one of the best radio talk show hosts ever.

His mind and analytic abilities are matchless at times.

Why, then, doesn’t he ever seem to carry an entire show that way, from beginning to end? At some point he seems to run out of steam and starts talking about unrelated or inane subjects, such as what he had for lunch, his heartburn, or food stains on his shirt. He might even break out into nonsense rhyming or song.

Sometimes he is lethargic, slow, low, and whining, and at other times he seems to be speeding, higher, and higher, talking faster than the average human can even think.

Sausage must be about 97 years old by now, and puts me in mind of an ancient desert prophet but I wish he would plan his shows to be more coherent and straight through, rather than bounce all over the place.

Oh…and I loathe when he attacks his “competition,” giving them nasty nicknames and needlessly saying absurdly noxious things about them.

A typical show might begin something like… **Cue Music: the Mommas and the Poppas, “Monday Monday.”

“This is Mihael Sausage coming to you live, coast to coast, from the mighty WABZ radio machine—a 50,000 watt blowtorch signal drying out the sweltering streets of New York—my home town, the son of an immigrant here! If you’re not with the Sausage Ration, you’re not anywhere! Just ask my dog Freddy! He’s right here iin the studio listening to his master’s voice. Am I right, Freddy! That wasn’t a question! Hoo, boy; I just finished two Chinese lunches and the heartburn is killing me—you didn’t know that until I told you, did you! But let’s get to work awready—another “Monday, Monday”—here at the Sausage Ration! Freddy, listen to your master’s voice! Lucky for you it’s not the lawyeh, or the board banger, or the golf EL Chappo—those shrinking members of the Talk Cartel—they’d make you bored with their shtick, Freddy!

“Freddy!

“ANYWAY—My guests today are almost as famous as I am, but not as good-looking! That’s right—that’s who they are! The fantastic, syndicated movie critic, Mr. Rex Leaf, in an Earth-shaking reveal interview with one of the world’s most outspoken and creative people—not to mention he’s really, really rich—It’s! Mr! Ronald! Jump! Of literary, movie, Internet, casino, and high-rise fame!

“Mr. Ronald Jump, and Rex Leaf! Fantastic, am I right? That wasn’t a question! I’m the most right person in radio history! Maybe in the world!

“Rex Leaf and Ronald Jump!

“Rex, why don’t you just take it away and begin—The Ronald has something astonishing to reveal and I can hardly wait myself to hear it—I’m like King Lear waiting for news of his daughter! Are my references too nuanced? Too literary for you? I am the smartest person in radio; maybe in the world. Well, go ahead, Rex, but first let me tell you about this diner Mihael Sausage went to last night, where I met regular, salt of the Earth people—just like me! I’m a down to Earth guy, the only son of an immigrant in talk radio, and I read real people better than anybody else in the history of radio—because I have that ability–no, no, wait a second, Rex and Ronald, wait, quiet, you have to hear about this—I was SO Moved by it! Mihael Sausage started dinner with some down to earth wine—we were all singing—wine, 50 cents for a bottle, and….”

**

Anyway.

Anyway, that’s about how it goes.

I just wish he straighten out the act. He’d be even better than he is now.

Jes’ sayin’….

I remember when terra Linda was a dairy farm. To get to the very first housing development from the freeway, heading north on the 101, you made a left turn from a left turn lane, I’m talking 1956/1957. Open land and people had horses too. Many moons ago.

Wine would be my guess.

People that complain about Savage either don’t listen to him or are embarrassed that it took so long to overcome their indoctrination into the “party” and realize he’s right about just about everything.

Fairfax is stuck in the 60’s? That was a nice area years ago. Is there still the back road from SR to Greenbrae? That was a hoot to drive. Took that way to get to College of Marin, when I started college. Haven’t been back to that area in years. Are you saying you live in Height Ashbury? Dear God.

Heard them all over the years. My two best are Dana Loesch and Rush Limbaugh. I also like Joe Pass lately.

Michael Savage’s radio show is more entertaining, insightful, and intellectual than your ‘revrunt sharpton’ panther wizz photoshops jobs will ever be. You are the equivalent of a street punk dissing a prize fighter. Did you work for KSFO or KGO back in the day and Mike told you to eff off, and now you’re all butt hurt?

The Grade between Sam Rafael and Greenbrae is still well traveled.

were due to get a train that will go as far..as petaluma here in Central Marin next year...how much firther I do not know.

Fairfax is peopled with lots of folk from “Mayberry.”...as well as lots of “berkeley refugees” its a strange mix but thus far no open warfare...

I arrived in Oakland of all places in 1971..from there to SF. when it was still bearable...and then to Marin in 1979.

I have a friend who has a friend who has a cattle ranch out in Nicasio...including Longhorn Cattle....whos dying to pack up and move to his ranch in Texas...

thats sort of where I “am” at the moment, really tired of the locals and thier politics.....personal and otherwise.

Free Republic lets me BREATH a bit!!

I think he did mention he used to be a Lib a long time ago.

If I remember correctly, he said it was right up until he got affirmative actioned out of work.

rush has been in decline for years but has been gaining courage lately-—just a bit

One of my favorite savage routines is advocating tolerance of canibals.
