This is one of the odd features of the religion...Muhammad even tells you bluntly in the Quran...lying to non-Muslims is perfectly ok. I’m amazed that people don’t sit down....gaze through the Quran and all these bits of advice on how to handle a non-Muslim (probably fifty to sixty percent of the Quran is precisely that). This is why people who are non-Muslims.....will never have a Muslim as a personal friend. At some point, you will ask yourself...is he truthful to me or not, and when you start doing this daily....there is no friendship.

It isn’t a religion
Arising from a Mid-Eastern culture, 'critical thinking' is a foreign concept. What their elders teach is, by definition, correct. Apparently, 'imams' are not necessarily that well versed in the 'hadiths', which purport to describe what muhamed said and the circumstances surrounding what he said. In addition, ANY translation of the koran is considered incorrect, as it is ONLY the ancient Arabic text that is considered to be valid, so many do not really know what it says, only what their imam tells them what it says; kind of like the Roman Catholic Church was like for so many centuries!
Don't forget that during the colonial era, Great Britain, France, etc., controlled most of Africa and the Middle East and they allowed the imams to continue to preach only a watered down version of islam. Basically, the 'hadiths', especially the violent ones, were tossed and 'jihad' became purely a spiritual battle. Most imams caved because they knew that if they didn't, they'd be SOL for a job or worse, facing the business end of a British Army firing squad's Lee-Enfields! Couple their change in teaching with the culture of respecting elders and Arabic koran only, soon, most moslems actually believed it was a religion of peace, as they had no desire or ability to read the original texts.
Unfortunately, the European powers gave up their empires and too many moslems, like the wahabbis and the MB, learned about the REAL mohamed, the pedophile, rapist, murderer, and robber. Convinced that mo was the last messenger of god, they followed his teachings and examples.
We need to thank God that so few moslems follow the example of mohamed (PBUH- perdition be upon him). Some moslems actually ARE chasing after God, which is why so many are receiving dreams and visions of Jesus and are turning to Him. We need to pray that God can use us to help open their eyes to the truth before He comes again and they join mohamed in Hell.
A great book to read is Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeels Qureshi. He is a Christian apologist with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, an MD with two MAs, currently working on a PhD in New Testament studies at Oxford, who spoke at my church three weeks ago.
Part of the problem is that so many moslems who are new to the country (be it Canada, US, UK, etc.) believe these countries are Christian. Seeing what passes for 'entertainment', be it TV, 'music' (if the noise may be called 'music'), or movies, they associate it with 'Christianity' and want NOTHING to do with it. Many self isolate, never meeting Christians, so their pre-conceptions remain, buttressed by what they see around them. For first generation 'peaceful' moslems, they are anchored in their culture and only want to make a living. Unfortunately, it is the SECOND generation, those raised in the West, that can have problems. They are not American (or Canadian, or European, etc.) but they are also not Pakistani (or whatever country they are from). They are easy prey for the radicals who make them feel welcome and give them a 'purpose'. NOTE: I said peaceful Muslims. Those who espouse wahhabi or violent jihad beliefs are a whole different matter. They should not be allowed in and if they are here, they should be imprisoned in isolation, gulag style, where they can no longer cause problems.
With the best intelligence services in the world, why aren't the CSE, CSIS, NSA, DHS, CIA, MI6, GCHQ, DGSE, BND, etc., taking down all the jihadi websites or jamming them? Why aren't mosques infiltrated and those preaching violent jihad quieted with extreme prejudice, as noted above? The governments in the West need to step up, like the imperial governments did over 100 years ago and explain to those preaching violent jihad that it will no longer be tolerated, that their ability to preach hate will be ended. (If they wish to preach jihad to the Arctic foxes and polar bears in Alaska or Nunavut, more power to them!) AFA people? No way!
AFA Christians, we are commanded to evangelize. If we befriend the new moslems down the street, they'll see how a Christian lives in an evil society. Jesus drew people to Him through relationship. That is how we can bring the Gospel to lost moslems. If they are over here, we can reach them with the Gospel. If they are over there, in the middle of jihadi teaching, we have little chance.
I think the Oath of Allegiance should be modified to include renunciation of all allegiance and fidelity to legal systems incompatible with the American system of government.
Iv'e been reading this Islamic jihad crap for years. Pretty sure your number of 99% is very close. However, I think it's around more like 97.6%. Big difference. /sarcasm

Historically it has not been benign, but rather quite cancerous....and with deadly effect......the whole goal of Islam is to impose Sharia Law as a means of subjugating native populations. The US Muslim community is in the midst of that effort right here in the US.

I don't know why people keep saying that Islam is a violent religion, not when he media keep reminding them that Muslims are actually peaceful.
We were reminded after the first and second World Trade Center attacks, after the Pentagon attack, after the attack on the Cole, after the attack on the trains in Spain, after the London Underground attack, after the Mumbai and Bali attacks, after the Embassy attacks in Tanzania and Kenya, after each of the innumerable suicide bombings in Israel, after each televised ISIS beheading, and over a thousand times a year.
After that many reminders, we should learn that Muslims are actually peaceful. Conservatives are slow learners, but we knew that since they still haven't learned that Obama is a Christian after an equal number of reminders of that fact.
Deport that family now back to the craphole in the sand from which they came.
Anywhere that Muslims are a sizeable minority or greater, there is a standing level of cultural violence to persecute non-Muslims.

The DailyMail is now reporting that his family life was not so happy and peaceful. Mom filed for divorce due to abuse and Dad wanted a second wife. As usual the Brit press seems to be ahead of our lameMSM.

So what is your solution? The US, Canada, Europe has anywhere from 1.5% - 3% moslem population and they outbreed us by a wide margin. Our culture has changed from Andy Griffith, John Wayne and Wayne & Shuster to Marylin Manson, Li’l Wayne and “Jersey Shore”. Is it any wonder moslems, new to the country, want to self isolate? I would like to myself, but I cannot. Their kids are torn between trying to fit in with a conservative family and trying to fit in with an America (and Canada) that is unashamedly hedonistic. Who fills that confusing gap? The jihadists. THEY are the ones that require decisive, uncompromising action to stop their message but WE have to provide a more appealing message. JESUS!
Christians need to reach OUR YOUTH to turn the tide back against the evil that eminates from the radio, TV, internet etc. If we can get the youth back, we can start to change our society! That also includes moslem youth!
