The field will soon narrow when the Dems tell us how to vote for.
RCP (Real Clear Politics) has about 15 people in it. The RNC rules sort of make sense, take the top 10 based on poll averages.
There is going to be a losers bracket debate in New Hampshire, too.
I think the debate situation will remove the vast majority of ‘players’. Once you clear the second debate....it’ll be strictly five people from that point on. I do think Cruz, Walker and Rubio will be giving five-star debate performances. Bush might do a marginal three-star job and survive. I also think Dr Carson might shock a few folks and get some high-points for debate skills. Beyond that....the rest are finished. Trump might throw five great ideas out there, but he’s just not that great at debates.
I didn’t see Fred Karger on that list. [snicker]
Cruz or we ALL lose.
Gonna be more like a lottery.
I want to have T-shirts made up that say “I running for the GOP nomination for President.” At the bottom it says “I can’t do worse than the idiot there now!”
In all seriousness, does anyone else see the path that would cause a brokered convention?
Random nobodies (example “Michael Kinlaw”) run every 4 years, they aren’t worth mentioning.
The fact that so many R’s are running and so few D’s tells me one thing: most of the inside people think the next president will be an R.
Interesting concept, but I don’t want to thin the herd til after Walker announces!
better idea.
a Premier League, and a Lower Division.
every round, worst debater in top.division moves down
best debater in lower division moves to the top division
Walker.
Natural Born Citizen and, elected to an executive position in the past 6-10 years, should eliminate most of the crazies.
Other than that, trim the length of the mess.
We don;t want to destroy our candidates with petty infighting.
What do you mean by "we"?
The system for placing names before the Electoral College has degenerated into a reality show owned and operated by open, professed enemies of our culture, our people, and our constitution. What WE need is an end to polls, and end to debates, an end to the ritualized "announcing", "running", etc, etc. will the associated "rules" regarding ballot access, financing, and the other epiphenomena imposed by our rulers to assure that no enemy of theirs ever emerges.
The debate system is lousy anyway, so having thirty candidates at least prevents a lot of debates.
Well the top ten will be in the TV debates so that will set the field.
Brian Russell? Skip Andrews? Bickelmeyer? Kerry Bowers? Dale Christiansen? Dummett? Cullison? Everson? ETC... Who are these people?
Not playoff, payoff.
