Our sweet big kitty just died peacefully in her sleep after a very short decline. We believe her heart just gave out.
There is a big Patches shaped hole in our hearts just at the moment.
We grieve with you. I have lost so many dear friends of the kitty variety. I said I couldn’t take another loss ... but Miss Kitty, the Tuxedoed princess came into my life anyway. God wnts us to love and these little creatures are sent for our souls. He is in the business of raising us up in the way that we should go, and loving is a big part of it.
We lost our 17 year old Tomcat about 2 weeks ago, so can really sympathize.
Condolences on your loss.
I’m sorry. It leaves a big hole. Had to put down my oldest (19) last October. I’m mostly stoic, but that was very difficult. They are our companions.

Sorry to hear that, LonePalm. My wife and I have had about 12 cats and 4 dogs in the 40 years we’ve known each other. It’s never easy seeing them pass. We still have 3 cats and a dog. Thanks for being a great pet owner.
Sorry for your loss. I’ll give my cat an extra hug tonight.
I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful cat. I know she will be waiting near The Rainbow Bridge. Take confidence at how happy you made each other. I have 3 cats and 4 dogs and many that went before them. (see tag)
Over my many years, including nearly 20 doing wildlife rehab, I've had the company of well over a score of cats: strays, lost kittens, injured, left for dead, and a couple of wild ones who decided to sample the food and then stay for the show. As you know, every one leaves a hole in the heart when they go. Holes heal, but slowly.
They say shared joy is doubled, and shared sorrow is halved. You have so many FRiends here sharing your sorrow, I hope it is similarly reduced.
I offer a prayer on your behalf and on behalf of Patches, and God Bless.
I am so sorry for your loss. Our fur babies are family and their loss is deeply felt. Prayers for you and yours.
Sorry to hear about your Patches. Patches has gone to a better place and will be waiting for you at the Heavenly Gates. Remember Heaven is not just for people. =)
Sorry for your loss..
We lost one of ours after 18 years this January. He had been declining in health, but one day he no longer got out of bed, I brought him food and water, and we made the appt to have him put to sleep, later that day, he meowed at me like he was 100% healthy, I sat down, started petting him as he purred and then nothing.. he died as I was giving him some last loving :)
It stinks, but I think the best thing you can do is take some time to grieve, and go adopt another one that needs a home :)
Awww, I’m so sorry she’s gone. It’s so hard to lose them because they touch us so deeply. Prayers to comfort you in your loss.
We have an exact replica of yours that 'lives' here, but with less weight.
Her mother dropped by and gave birth to a litter, but the kittens never
bonded with humans by the time we discovered them. Trapped her and
had her spayed. She socializes with our other tame cats and eats with them,
fluffs around us, but after five years we can't pet her.
I am so sorry for your loss, but know that your kitty is not so far away. It doesn’t really help right now, just know that precious one will be waiting for you, and then you will NEVER have to say goddbye again.
Love to sweet, dear Patches and to you. My prayers are for your suffering and loss. Be comforted. Pray for us.
Please take comfort my friend that your sweet kitty lived her life every day knowing she was loved and she loved you back. You will be reunited some time.
I’m very sorry about your kitty dying. Condolences.
So sorry for your loss.
Jehovah God created them and said it was GOOD.
Consider the Blessing your loved animal was to your lives.
I pray that your family will be comforted.
I am so sorry for your loss. There is no doubt she knew she was loved and we know she had a wonderful home with you. I’m also a tortie fan, have 2 tortie and white love sponge cats. I know how heart rending the loss of a beloved cat is. Somewhere out there is another little tortie baby who you can rescue from being put down in some kill shelter, or who you can take off the streets and into a wonderful life. Then you will wonder—who rescued who? The new tortie baby will be a tribute to Patches; she was such a wonderful ambassador for her kind, you had to have another in her image.
