Minnesota Teachers Revolt Against 5 Years of ‘White Privilege’ Training

EAG News reports that the public school district of St. Paul has spent $3 million over the past 5 years to work with “Pacific Educational Group, a San Francisco-based organization that tries to help public schools deal with achievement and disciplinary issues involving black students.” PEG’s educational philosophy: That standard curricula are inherently biased against black students due to “white privilege”.

Curriculum changes, however, were not at the top of their list. Instead, St. Paul schools were required to revise discipline policies in order to cease suspending black students, instead punishing them via “time outs” from the classroom, along with school officials “forgiving or ignoring” violent behavior.

“The result has been general chaos throughout the district, with far too many students out of control because they know there are no real consequences for their actions.” As a result of the disciplinary changes, students run wild in the hallways, teachers have “secret knocks” for students who want admission into classrooms, and the number of students attending non-district schools has ballooned. It is, in short, a nightmare. Most students don’t even feel safe going to the bathroom.

The teachers’ union has partnered with local organizations to push certain school board members out in the upcoming election. However, the heat really needs to be turned up on Pacific Educational Group, the source of the policies that resulted in such turmoil. PEG’s client list contains the names of over 100 public school districts across the country, including 22 in Minnesota alone. They’ve also partnered with over a dozen independent and charter schools as well as nearly 50 institutions of higher education including the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. A number of state departments of education are also included on their client list.

According to a 2006 article in the Rocky Mountain News, PEG’s president and founder Glenn Singleton, who charges a six-figure consulting fee, holds radical views on race, claiming that ”‘white talk’ is ‘verbal,’ ‘intellectual’ and ‘task-oriented,’ while ‘color commentary’ is ‘emotional’ and ‘personal.’”

Sad that her husband and other leftists help dumb these kids down to that level.

Couldn’t happen to a better state.

From the state that gave us Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale and Al Franken, we should return the favor: send tens of millions of black people up there from the hot hellholes of the South.

That way they can repay the Debt the White Man Owes.

The rest of us can buy popcorn and watch the show. Should be hilarious.

Anyone who gets upset about this can keep this in mind: these are the people who pointed their lilly white fingers at everyone else and said “you’re guilty!”.

Upset that nothing short of mass White Genocide seems to placate the screaming masses? Too bad. This is what they’re really like.

Live with it, clowns.

Maybe they could get Chris Rock to make a new video: "How to not get your ass kicked by the Teacher". </s

Once conclusion can be drawn from Mr Singleton's observation. If black communication is “personal” and “emotional”, then there aren't any black Vulcans or Romulans. Live long and prosper.

White privilege means that you have the privilege of being beaten up, raped or killed by a non-White and you will be blamed for it.

That might be one of the most racist things I have ever read.

This guy would make an EXCELLENT Klan member.

Minnesota is revolting. The state is a cesspool of liberal policy. And they produce a significant percentage of public school teachers for the nation. These teachers can’t read or write, but they have had the best indoctrination in the latest academic theory so they are well qualified to infect the rest of the country.

Public schools—all public schools—are the reason that this country is falling. I get so tired of hearing about how schools everywhere are bad, except “our schools.” Just like all your politicians are honest. It’s a lie straight from hell.

If words have meaning, it is not really about "liberalism," or anyone's privilege. It is about diverting the Negro youth away from what works--what has always worked for human betterment--into an alienation that will keep them dependent on crack-pot theorists, in and out of Government. It is vicious, but in no sense rational for any other purpose.

Contrast this idiotic message with the wise counsel of Booker T. Washington, the great Negro educator, in his effort to promote good will and cooperation between the races in the South in the 1890s (Booker T. Washington Address).

How can anyone with a shred of decency deliberately promote an ideology that all logic cries out can only interfere with the incentives to better oneself? How can anyone suggest that this type of training will have any other result?

Chinese children have figured out how to excel in the sane system.

Is PEG saying black kids are inherently inferior or admitting they really are just plain stupid.

... punishing them via “time outs” from the classroom...

I don't know about today's kids, but when I was a kid a "time out" from the classroom would have been considered a reward, not a punishment!

You want “color commentary?”

I’ll give you “color commentary!”

Do I sense the birth of a new Freeper phrase to tag emotional and personal outbursts?

six-figure consulting fees

Hopefully (I’m dreaming) the decimal and the two zeros that follow are each counted as a figure.

No one wins in THAT environment...certainly no one will actually LEARN and that’s what school IS ... RIGHT?

Nope. I keep telling folks that it's a rigged game. Why play it? My wife and I circumvent the whole thing by just homeschooling. I don't have to worry about ANY of this crap.

the public school district of St. Paul has spent $3 million over the past 5 years to work with “Pacific Educational Group

Multiply by a hundred school districts, add in all the OTHER programs like "sexual harassment" training, etc, etc, and we start to understand how so much money gets into the hands of Democrat activists, who then spend a lot of time making sure that Dem politicians get re-elected so that the gravy train continues.
