Who or what is a Zamboni? It sounds like a sweet dinner wine.

I always assumed the Zamboni driver job included a case of Molson XXX every night.

You can drive a Zamboni sober? Why?

Isn’t drunk part of the job description?

Defense attorney Lindsey Haugen said Anderson wasn't guilty because North Dakota state law doesn't define a Zamboni as a vehicle. I would think that a better argument is that a hockey rink is not a public road.

Geez, I got the impression of the frozen north and hockey fans that being drunk was obligatory!

Man found guilty of driving zamboni drunk during hockey gameDuring hockey game?
Sober zamboni drivers wait until in between periods.

I live in South Dakota and used to live in Minnesota. Really not a lot to do in the winter. He’s on an oval, how much trouble could he cause?

“Prosecutors said Anderson had a 0.314 percent blood-alcohol content that night.”
There’s the problem right there. 0.314 is well below the legal minimum to operate a Zamboni in North Dakota. Get another six-pack into that man, stat!

The I Wanna Drive A Zamboni Song
Well I went down to the local arena
Asked to see the manager man
He came from his office, said, “Son can I help you?”
I looked at him and said, “Yes you can...”
I want to Drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to Drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!
Now ever since I was young it’s been my dream
That I might drive a Zamboni machine
I’d get the ice just as slick as could be
And all the kids would look up to me
I want to drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!
Now the manager said, “Son, I know it looks keen
But that right there is one expensive machine
And I’ve got Smokey who’s been driving for years.”
About that time I broke down in tears.
Cause I want to drive the Zamboni...hey
I want to drive the Zamboni...Yes I do!
