Ah, diversity...
Let’s celebrate!
Comparing a train engineer to an airline pilot is ridiculous. How hard is it to “drive” a train?
Who new when you get on an AMTRAK train, you’re riding the “Diversity Express?”
“32 year old kid”?
I don’t know about you, but at 32, I was a responsible married MAN and father. People younger than 32 regularly drive tanks, fighter planes, and other vehicles very responsibly.
"Smart Track" technology had been implemented in other regions (DC to Philly, NYC to Boston), but apparently THEY ran out of money to install that in one of the busiest Philly to NYC tracks.
The thinking is if tight-fisted GOP would have approved any Obama funding request and smart track technology implemented, it doesn't matter WHO they hire as train engineers.
You know, the rest of us Taxpayers are going to pay the bills from the lawsuits of all those victims.
I think I’ll wait for some sort of official report or leak about the black box. He was a white gingered hair tuti fruti so I really really doubt he was filling an affirmative action slot with so many authentically black LGBT’s running about.
probably sitting on his thumb and not paying attention.
Gays on average have higher IQs and make more money than straights—I’m really not sure that any AA is required for them to be promoted.
Here’s a description of the requirements to become a train engineer—doesn’t sound that rigorous:

Also looks like the path from conductor to engineer is pretty common:

Ain’t Marxism wonderful?
Pray America is waking
I’m going to suggest this was intentional, and he ‘chickened out’ at the last second.
Domestic fight with his lover started this ,I’ll bet.
I’m normally on your side, but here, I think you’re reaching a bit much in trying to infer socio-political motives to a guy’s getting a job.
They may be facts you’re stating, but I seriously doubt that they represent the truth.
Train service jobs are union positions, and there’s lots (and I mean LOTS) of training these folks go through before they can qualify for an engineer’s position. I speak from experience here - I’ve been in the rail industry for 40 years and know first-hand how rigorous the training and ongoing testing is for positions like these.
“Diversity and inclusion” are key principles for Amtrack, apparently more key than not killing customers.
“BUT have you ever heard of an airline stewardess getting promoted to pilot?”
Train engineers are not equivalent to pilots, and conductors are not equivalent to flight attendants. Working as a conductor is a typical part of a career path towards becoming a train engineer.
This guy is a disgusting pile of puke. And that’s what he makes me want to do every time I’m subjected to seeing his incredibly ugly and bizarre face. Obviously he was “driving distracted or impaired” in some way. How can you not know you’re doing twice the speed limit, and that there is a dangerous curve up ahead?
Once again what you are is more important than who you are
