Where's Waldo? The New York Times plays this game on a large scale with a disingenuous article talking about the "disappearance" of 1.5 million black men.
In New York, almost 120,000 black men between the ages of 25 and 54 are missing from everyday life. In Chicago, 45,000 are, and more than 30,000 are missing in Philadelphia. Across the South from North Charleston, S.C., through Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi and up into Ferguson, Mo. hundreds of thousands more are missing.
They are missing, largely because of early deaths or because they are behind bars. Remarkably, black women who are 25 to 54 and not in jail outnumber black men in that category by 1.5 million, according to anUpshot analysis. For every 100 black women in this age group living outside of jail, there are only 83 black men.
Perhaps the starkest description of the situation is this: More than one out of every six black men who today should be between 25 and 54 years old have disappeared from daily life.

WTF!
They’re in a back room somewhere waiting for election day.
A smiley face would normally mean in jest, tongue-in-cheek and all that.
Now it’s Al Sharpton and the “kill cops” crowd.
I tend to use the term “paramilitary wing of the Democrat party”, but yours works, too.
Did they ever exist?
Ya think??
It’s a tragedy most of these people had absolutely no good male role models in early childhood. How does a young man learn to make good choices as he grows up, when he’s surrounded by other lost children and adults who are broken beyond repair?
The breakdown of the family unit is the real tragedy.
How the heck would the NYTs know they are missing?
All the black guys I have ever known were past masters at “missing”.
Dem MoFo’s don’t bees missin, da jes bees stayin wid some udder Ho.
They were aborted.
And the reason they abandon their children?
Well, this presupposes children,
which presupposes sexual activity,
which presupposes consent on the part of the female,
which presupposes the appearance of a lack of consequences for that consent,
which presupposes that the “safety net” will support the resulting offspring.
There is that, but the way they were determined to be “missing” is that there are 1.5 million more females in society than males.
You are quite right, and the term "paramilitary wing" is more succinct also.
I think many younger people don't realize what the "paramilitary wing" of a political party does, since the dirty war in Argentina and the various Communist paras of Central America have disappeared, or at least receded from our daily consciousness since the fall of the USSR. That's why I used the terminology I did.
As most of those missing black men were killed by other black men, and most of those incarcerated black men are there because they killed black men, I can say with some assurance that black lives will matter when blacks decide they matter to each other. We cannot give them self-worth. We whites are not nearly as powerful as they think we are.
