Well, theres one way to ensure that everyone buys into the man-made global warming hoax: extortion. Starting next year the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will stop funds from going to states that refuse to believe that humans are causing climate change.
This news comes straight from the leftist eco-nuts at Inside Climate News, so you can be assured that it isnt a paranoid conservative interpretation of an innocuous FEMA regulation:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is making it tougher for governors to deny man-made climate change. Starting next year, the agency will approve disaster preparedness funds only for states whose governors approve hazard mitigation plans that address climate change.
Sounds pretty fascist to me. If you have the truth on your side, you do not need to force people to believe it. Only liars and charlatans resort to bullying tactics like this.
This may put several Republican governors who maintain the earth isnt warming due to human activities, or prefer to do nothing about it, into a political bind. Their position may block their states access to hundreds of millions of dollars in FEMA funds.
Basically it works like this: state governments must accept that man-made global warming is real and commit public funds to programs designed to mitigate the effects of it, even if it isnt real. State governments that fail to do this will loose out on millions, if not billions, in FEMA funds.
Specifically, beginning in March 2016, states seeking preparedness money will have to assess how climate change threatens their communities. Governors will have to sign off on hazard mitigation plans. While some states, including New York, have already started incorporating climate risks in their plans, most havent because FEMAs old 2008 guidelines didnt require it.
And it appears that this isnt just about global warming, but all things that environmentalist hate:
This could potentially become a major conflict for several Republican governors, said Barry Rabe, an expert on the politics of climate change at the University of Michigan. We arent just talking about coastal states. Climate change affects droughts, rainfall and tornado activity. Fracking is being linked to more earthquakes, he said. This could affect state leaders across the country.
What the hell does fracking have to do with global warming? Does this mean that states that allow fracking are also going to have funds withheld? Probably.
Dont go thinking this new regulation is a shakedown. According to FEMA spokeswoman Susan Hendrick forcing states to accept global warming as reality is actually just a way to raise awareness and support for implementing the actions in the mitigation strategy and increasing statewide resilience to natural hazards.
Raise awareness? Sounds more like a fun run than a tyrannical mandate.
Heres the best part about all this:
The new federal rules dont require public involvement in the creation of states disaster preparedness plans, eliminating the opportunity for environmental groups and concerned citizens to submit comments or concerns about the assessments.
So FEMA, an unelected body, will withhold vital funds from states if they dont believe in man-made global warming and there is to be no public debate or scrutiny. Thats as Obama as it gets. Im sure if this works out, hell try a similar scheme for gun control, gay marriage, and abortion.
Heretics should be burned at the stake.
The thugocracy has to do this because the science doesn’t backup their idiocy
This is so very Soviet of Obama. No one here is surprised.
Denying global climate change is doubleplusungood.
The Article 5 convention may be our best shot. We have no opposition party in Congress.
The last I knew , coercion is a criminal offense
and is punishable by "Law of the Land".
How did the states ever survive before FEMA? /s
The feds get all of their (real) money from states. This little move is easily countered.
It is time we crush these retards where they sit
This is for preparedness funding only. Disaster funds which are Stafford Act $$$$ are not effected by this nonsense.
States should declare they believe in climate change because all the science points to a return of the ice age. Therefore they need to invest in salt for roads, snowmobiles for rescue, helicopters for food drops, snow melters, etc.
It is way past time to start hunting the bastards who write these silly regulations down as if they were feral pigs.
When a disaster strikes and the feds don't act, they'll look like fools and will be blamed for not responding.
Actually it is probably a good thing. States should take control of their own states and kick FEMA, its rules, and everything related to it out of their states. Before there was a FEMA the states took care of disasters and their citizens. Lured by “free money” the states have gotten into bed with Satan’s whore.
I know, right. It’s ridiculous for states to declare a disaster and then wait hat in hand for the Feds. States should encourage residents to be ready and have a kit on-hand and allow private industries such as Walmart to handle the logistics.
The obvious reply to this unlawful, unconstitutional, criminal act by the rogue Obama regime is for congress to CUT OFF all funds to FEMA until they start obeying the laws of this country. But with Mitch McConnell(the most cowardly creature to ever come out of Kentucky) and John Boehner in charge, there is zero chance of that ever happening.

I will prepare any state a Global Climate Change Hazard Mitigation Plan for only $100,000. (Don’t call me Gruber — I’m affordable by any state)
Rough draft:
1. If sea level increases, build sea walls.
2. If snow stops falling, shut down ski resorts
3. If temperatures go up, have local retail stores run more sale on air conditioners.
4. If the opposite of #1-3 occurs, then don’t build sea walls, keep ski resorts open, and tell citizens to run their AC less often.
I’ll send you my bill.
