Teacher's High School Physics Curriculum to Include Lessons on White Privilege

Moses Rifkin of University Prep in Seattle has decided that his Physics students do not know enough about white privilege.

Mr. Rifkin’s lesson will ask students to look at African American scientists of the past. The assignment asks the question, “Why, percentage-wise, are there dramatically fewer black physicists than black Americans? Is it because black students are not interested in physics? Not capable? Something else?”

Oddly, Rifkin’s curriculum specifically bans studying any other minorities but African Americans.

“We do this,” the lesson explains, “because it’s a particularly illustrative example; we aren’t going to directly address other scientific minorities, and there are many: women, other races, the economically disadvantaged, the physically disabled, etc.”

It is hard to fake physics. Physics does not car what color you are, or how old, or who you know. It can’t be gamed.

All this stems from a collective neurosis. Unfortunately it seems to be getting worse.

The success of the grievance peddlers most certainly is dependent on the compulsion that drives collectivist egalitarianism, and the demand for uniformity of thought & condition. Thus while the focus on imaginary grievances is the demagogue's technique, the egalitarian compulsion draws Lenin's "useful idiots," to the picnic.

This is something the left absolutely rejects.

And actively resents, if my experience trying to mentor younger employees is any indication. They want to be treated as equal, but you can't share any knowledge with them because it indicates you think there is something they don't already know, even if you have been in the business for decades and they just arrived — and obviously you think that because you are a racist.

Yeah, that symbol they use for the site in the web address bar is a white supremacist symbol, the same one used for the logo for stormfront.org, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are related.

Becoming a world-class physicist requires interest, and it requires discipline. The question is not, “Why don’t enough blacks apply the self-discipline to become strong physicists that some of them become famous physicists?” The question is, ”Why do enough whites - AND ASIANS - apply the self-discipline to become competent physicists that some of them become famous physicists?”

Not applying yourself and disciplining yourself is like water running downhill. It requires no explanation. White, and especially Asian, students apply themselves because their parents persuade them that they have no other choice. And that does not depend on whether the white or Asian parents are Republican or Democrat.

What is different between the Republican and the Democrat is that the Republican assumes that the same self discipline which helps their own children succeed - in physics or anything else - will bear fruit for blacks as well.

The Democrat, OTOH, does not make that assumption but rather assumes that blacks need “help.” The “help” the Democrat provides acts exactly like bed rest does on a weak patient - it feels comfortable, but in the long run it debilitates the patient even more. The Asian student has the same "privilege" the white student has. It is the privilege of not being given pernicious “help” by Democrats.

From before the Civil War unto the present day, the answer to the teacher’s question has been the same. Democrats.

The standard curve for blacks is flatter because there is more diversity in the black gene pool. That means there is a larger fraction at both ends of the spectrum, exceptionally stupid and exceptionally bright.
