Marijuana destroys Families
2/2/2015 | Rfreedom4u

My daughter will turn 19 this month. She is our fifth child. She has also been the most worrying to us as she started using drugs a long time ago. She said she first smoked weed at age 12. Since then she has gone on the try many other drugs to include meth, cocaine, pills and LSD and a few others I can’t name. Last year she was in intensive care for 8 days. She has also been in jail about seven or eight times and gone through rehab twice. She is currently living with her mother and I at home but things are getting very tense. She broke up with her boyfriend and says that the stress of breakup makes her want to go get high and chill with her friends. Her friends are not true friends as they are also on drugs. Every time she hangs out with them she stays wasted for a couple days and I had to take her to the ER twice due to overdose on alcohol. Add to all this she has been beat up several times and raped twice that she has admitted to. When you add into this chaos the fact that my wife suffers from a mental illness which is made worse with stress it gets even more chaotic. Now I am at the point where I will soon have to make the choice of allowing my wife to be hospitalized because of her mental illness or I put my daughter out because of the strife she is causing. We’ve offered her all the help in the world and she continues to go on binges and tell us that what we offer won’t help. The last time she got wasted she told us all to “Go f***” ourselves. That night she left the house and was brought home by the police when they found her walking down the highway. As a parent I love my daughter endlessly. But I don’t see how (or why) I should continue to allow her to destroy the rest of the family. But at the same time I feel guilty for what I am considering. We can’t force her into treatment as she is an “adult” and I’m afraid that she will either end up in prison or dead. All this started I believe because she started smoking weed. The weed lowered her inhibitions and resistance and she started doing other drugs. So I truly believe that weed is a gateway drug and should never be legalized. If someone needs it for medicinal purposes they should have to go to a pharmacy for it just like we do with other prescription medications. It hurts me to do it, but I think I may be evicting her from the house today when I get home from work.

So much for your singapore law, over there having to firearms is a capitol offense.

The Arms Offences Act regulates firearms offences.[21] Any person who uses or attempts to use arms (Section 4) can face execution, as well as any person who uses or attempts to use arms to commit scheduled offences (Section 4A).
Trafficking in arms (Section 6) is a capital offence in Singapore. Under the Arms Offences Act, trafficking is defined as being in unlawful possession of more than two firearms.

Good to finally see a nonevasive response.

I think the regulation of Alcohol needs to be tightened up,

Interesting - how?

and I think Tobacco needs to be slowly strangled out of existence, which is exactly what is currently happening.

IMO the primary strangler has been factual information.

And it is equally apparent to everyone here that DiogenesLamp is bearing false witness.

"Conserving freedom" has been promoting the legalization of all drugs since he first arrived. If you don't count that as pushing drug usage, I don't know how to help you.

I will recommend that you get the beam out of your own eye though.

Excuses.

The first thing should have been said was that it was indeed illegal and some predator sold the crap to a little girl. And that person should have been punished.

Instead of... the girl must have had some kind of addiction problem, I think that someone suggested that she might have mental issues. All her fault.

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. You are really stuck between a rock and a hard place. You are not the first parent who had to cut loose a drug addict wreaking havoc in your family’s life and home.

I prayed for you all and will again tonight.

I will pray for you, your wife and daughter. I really don’t have much to offer on the way of advice, rfreedom4u. Your situation must be unbearable and my prayers will ask Our Lord to give you wisdom and insight. (((Hugs)))

The first thing should have been said was that it was indeed illegal and some predator sold the crap to a little girl.

Why did any of that need to be said? Was it going to help the distraught father? Of course it's illegal - and when pot is outlawed, only outlaws sell pot ... and many outlaws have no qualms about selling to children nor, with pot illegal and thus unregulated, any material disincentive.

Read the first few posts.

Maybe you didn’t.

If you didn’t, then my apologies.

If you did, then thank you for making my point for me.

Clearly the “agenda” is more important to some, than the life of a little girl or little girls and little boys.

So you're OK with equating marijuana with opium, even though they're not even chemically or pharmacologically related.

Neither is Sarin or Anthrax, but they both lead to the same result. Dead people.

Marijuana is the most minor form of available narcotic drugs and it often kickstarts subsequent addiction to worse and more dangerous substances.

Tolerating Marijuana is a lot like tolerating socialists. If you put up with them, Eventually they will turn into communists.

Apart from that, if you accept the principle that adults have a right to take marijuana, then by what argument can you deny the legalization of all other drugs?

You erode the foundation, and the whole house collapses. Even the tiny little trickle of Marijuana legalization will eventually break down the dike holding the others back.

And then the nation dies.

I expect that if tobacco was banned its use would go down, but it doesn't follow that my support for the continued legality of tobacco is a promotion or endorsement of tobacco use.

Blah blah blah. You have stated that you favor the legalization of all drugs. *THAT* is promoting drug usage. No other consequence will be forthcoming.

Because that is the real tragedy here. And it was very telling that some of you went after the victim. The little girl. Apparently it is win at all costs.

Ok I changed my mind. You convinced me. We should not kill or even punish drug dealers. Why the drug cartels are simply misunderstood, right?

We should issue them all taxpayer ID numbers and set them up as legitimate businesses, right?

Once again you fail to understand a difference between a Tylenol and a needle full of crack.

Exactly.

Notice how the proponents attacked the victim, the little girl. The claimed that she must be an addict or some absurd excuse.

As if it was her fault for her addiction.

They simply do not want to believe that their "harmless" drug actually creates victims. It ruins their argument for pushing legalization.

They have no choice, they have to blame anything but the drug, because that would mean they are wrong, and they simply cannot abide the idea that they might be wrong about something.

All I know is that if someone hadn't exposed her to it, she wouldn't have taken it up.

You never did answer my question earlier. If you are not retired, how can you stay on FR all day and all night? Are you on government subsistence? Independently wealthy? Living in your moms basement? Just askin.

"She was given it at 12 years of age. Something that the proponents of legal use promised would never and could never happen."

Ahh the freeper posting this story shows they are in Texas. Weed isn't legal in Texas.

So Legal use I would gather has no bearing on the issue.
