Whether Muhammad is a prophet is a matter of faith, not fact.
In all the coverage of the barbaric terror attacks in Paris Wednesday, one fact of the story kept getting repeated in a curious way on network news, cable news, and in most mainstream publications. They kept saying, “Charlie Hebdo published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.”
Do you see it? You probably have become so used to it you don’t even notice anymore. But it’s strange, isn’t it?
Why on earth do the news media continue to proclaim Muhammad as a prophet? Isn’t “prophet,” in this context, a subjective modifier? Words are important, and the word “prophet” means something very specific.
The Prophetic Nature of Muhammad Is Not A Universal Truth
When the media calls Muhammad a “prophet” they are imparting to him a title that is not based in fact but is a matter of faith. To call Muhammad a “prophet,” don’t you have to believe he was divinely inspired? It is arguable that Muhammad’s status as a prophet is not an objective fact. And the media is supposed to deal in facts, whenever possible (climate change reporting notwithstanding.)

They call him the prophet because calling him the pedophile hits too close to home

Because ANY “religion” is better, more valid, more sacred, more revered then the EVIL and HATEFUL and RACIST religion of the Bitter Clingers of the Reviled Bible Belt of the United Crackers of America.

It's probably because they are cowardly, hypocritical a$$holes.
Either that or they're muslims.
A lot of what they do is based on hatred for and retaliation against conservatives.
They use the term “The Prophet” because they’re trying to push our buttons. I really think this is the primary reason.
Secondary reasons include wanting to feel self important that they can “see it from the muslim point of view” etc.
Third on the list is they’re actually afraid and want to ingratiate themselves with the jihadists. Kissing up to the bully of the neighborhood, in other words.
I was sadly disappointed to hear the Fauxies using that term regularly... Even Katherine Herridge, whom I normally respect.

They're terrified of Islam and pretend they aren't.
They have no fear of Christians, and pretend they do.
Well, at least when the news media mentions his name they do not say “Peace be upon him” after every time they mention “the profit”.
