Law abiding black men carrying arms is a way to intigrate inner city culture. As black men become armed and accepted by the police, black crime will fall. A greater sense of responsibility is likely to be fostered. It is no cure-all, but is a step in the right direction.

If a black man in Detroit makes 25 and has no criminal record, he is doing something right.

I totally agree. There’s likely to be additional benefit from removing the urban cultural lionization of firearms. Carrying a, “9,” can’t be that gangsta if all the law-abiding squares on your block do it as well.

I thought it was the chief of police of Detroit who was urging everyone to buy a gun and protect themselves because the police are undermanned.

Open carry is open carry regardless of the carrier`s color. As long as no thugs are illegally in possession of firearms then it`s their right as well. Nice leftist ‘divide and conquer’ ploy, though.

I’m all for Blacks enjoying the fruits of the 2nd Amendment. While folks are being conditioned to be leery of Blacks, I’d wager that there are many more stories about Whites suffering the same type issues as the article points out.
