Don’t breathe!
John observes that in Minneapolis “The liberals are revolting.” It’s a general truth but, in Minnesota, we have a bad case of it.
I happened to be heading south on Highway 35W out of downtown Minneapolis at mid-afternoon yesterday when I saw the roving band of ladies and gentlemen of the idiotic left marching north. They accompanied themselves with the the mindless “I can’t breathe” chant. I found the chant inspirational. I confess: it inspired prohibited thoughts of “If only.”
Can we get a counterdemonstration going?
“Don’t breathe!”
The traffic heading north toward downtown behind these ladies and gentlemen had pulled to a dead stop on the highway for what must have been about a mile. A rhetorical question: What conceivable good did they think they were doing? Seeing the many police cars and officers detailed to their protection, I experienced a new sensation. I felt a surge of support for police brutality.
It’s wrong, I know, and I hesitate to give voice to the thought. I support their right to annoy the public and make fools of themselves under the protection afforded by the Minneapolis police. In doing so, they may even serve a useful purpose, if not the one they intend.

LIBs are complete moonbats. I believe they are mainly not protesting but explaining to the rest of us why they have such brain damage...not enough oxygen to the brain.

They accompanied themselves with the the mindless I cant breathe chant. The worst part of this? If you can shout "I can't breathe", you can breathe. That's why you always ask the victim if they can speak before you try to intervene in a case where someone is choking on food, because if they can actually breathe, you'll do more harm than good by interfering.

The worst part is the law itself. They arrested this poor guy because he was selling cigarettes without paying the tax. Is the collection of such tribute worth killing people over?

That's why you always ask the victim if they can speak before you try to intervene in a case where someone is choking on food, because if they can actually breathe, you'll do more harm than good by interfering. Kevkrom, Actually there is a modality that accounts for his condition and the feeling he can't breathe. One of the doctors in my office explained it. I recounted in an earlier post what happened:
Essentially, lying on his stomach was pushing the fat of his belly up into him, compressing his diaphragm into his lungs, limiting its motion, thereby suppressing his ability to exhale, combined with his tendency to asthma closing down his bronchial passages limiting his airway even more, thus building up a load of CO2, which with his underlying diabetes, leads to anoxia, then hypoxia, and then asphyxia, all of which is putting an extreme load on his heart, resulting eventually in the infarction. Once he was on that downward spiral, it was unlikely that even the EMTs could stop it and save him. Had they known, what could they have done early on to prevent this spiral of events? Moved him onto his side. Much easier for someone of his size to breathe lying on the side.
(Apparently extended video shows the officers did turn him on his side before the EMTs arrived, but by then it must have been too late.)
The build-up of the CO2 causes the distinct feeling of not being able to breathe. Blood Oxygen level drops as the exchange in the lungs gets more and more inefficient. While he can still move some air in and out, thus being able to speak, he cannot move the deep air needed to clear the lungs.

So it was a major scandal when one of Chris Christie’s people shut down traffic on one bridge and these jagoffs are shutting down traffic all over the country and get portrayed as heroes? Are there no ambulances getting caught in these traffic jams?
