I was shooting pool a few years back with a black guy and he told me of another [black] guy who ripped him off. My friend called that guy a [n-word]. It came down to the use of the word not to describe a person, but that person's actions. The white guy who used to live across the hall, I'd not call him a N, but I've sure called him an A-Hole, and worse. [Liar and thief not even close] The takeaway from the pool game was, and I quote my black friend: "N-words come in all colors." Indeed they do...

“Code words” is code for censorship. You aren’t allowed to articulate certain thoughts - and if you do, your meaning will be “translated” by those hostile to those thoughts.

Hey, it’s nothing new! You can’t articulate actually liberal thought, because the meaning of the term “liberal” was inverted in the 1920s. There is no other word for liberal but liberal. So you have to say you’re “conservative” - when what you really want is freedom, and the blessings of liberty, which is progress. Progress of, by, and for the people.

That’s REALLY offensive. Not only do whites keep the blacks down so you have so many healthy black males sitting on their front stoops, but sitting on that cold concrete causes arthritis.

That’s so true. If someone tried to say Koreans are prone to teenaged pregnancy, armed robbery and drug dealing, they would just laugh because it’s not true. What makes many of these stereotypes so offensive is that they are too close to the truth.

The fact is, certain demographics are indeed over-represented when it comes to crime. The response to that is to either insist that the police only arrest people for crimes according to their proportion of the population — and then let the rest go: “I’m sorry, but our prison population is already 12% black, so we have to let you go.”

Or perhaps they need to look within themselves and try to bring their children up better. This is why Michael Brown was shot; he was obviously raised w/o limitations or consequences and became violently outraged that anyone would tell him “no.”

Hence, he put his hand on the clerk’s throat when he dared to follow him after being robbed.
