Brittany Maynard, the Oregon woman who had become an outspoken advocate for patients' rights following her terminal cancer diagnosis, died on Saturday, the Oregonian reported. She was 29.
"Goodbye to all my dear friends and family that I love," she wrote in a Facebook post, according to People. "Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness... the world is a beautiful place, travel has been my greatest teacher, my close friends and folks are the greatest givers... goodbye world. Spread good energy. Pay it forward!"
Earlier this year, Maynard learned that she was suffering from an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma and had only six months to live. After hearing what the disease would to her body in its final stages, she decided that she wanted to die on her own terms.

And she will burn in HELL,
Whatever.
Bless her little heart. Beautiful little girl. Hope she is at peace now in Jesus arms.
Sick sick sick. I missed the bible verse that says you get to judge her soul. Jerk.
The only difference between her and the suicide bombers is that bombing part.
And the fact that she had a terminal illness and was on her way out...
dignity
1.A quality or state worthy of esteem and respect.
2.Decorum, formality, stateliness;.
3.High office or rank;.
Her suicide doesn’t fit any of these definitions. Especially not the first one. The first definition describes the qualities of someone who endures through bad times until the end. She took the easy way out. I’m not sure I’m qualified to condemn her, but sprucing up suicide by saying it is somehow “dignified” is stupid. She should’ve just said she wanted to kill herself because she feared pain. That is far more accurate and truthful. She did nothing good by killing herself, and no one in their right mind would say that she should be esteemed or respected for that decision. I might as well say I respect and esteem Hitler because he decided to avoid pain by killing himself.
I don’t know — a person who spouts pagan crap right before killing herself and makes an international public spectacle of it — with imitation suicides sure to follow, may not have the highest probability shot at heaven. Doesn’t mean she’ll necessarily burn in eternal torment either.
People commit suicide on a daily basis. There is no public outcry for them. I find myself struggling to understand why she thought she had to go public with her decision. I hope she found her peace.
I didn’t see any pagan quote. But think you could give it a rest criticizing the thoughts of someone who’s brain is literally under attack? Thoughts do come from the brain, ,,,sometimes at least.
And the suicide straight to hell is a Catholic thing anyway. For extra credit, explain why the people who jumped out of the world trade center all went to hell. Did they owe it to God to accept being burned alive?
The only difference in an airliner and a B-52 is the bombing part.
Nobody knows that. All you can know is that if YOU committed suicide, it would send you to hell.
Her brain was stuffed with Death Culture propaganda her whole life. I hope that she was subjectively not guilty of suicide.
Of course, when a person is being burned alive, or feels absolutely intolerable heat from a fire, he has no freedom. No rational person believes the jumpers at the WTC went to hell for “suicide.”
There’s no dignity and honor in suicide.
yes you have the philosophy of life, christianity. this woman is a believer in the death cult.
Last I heard the only thing that sends one to hell is not accepting Jesus as your savior.
Joan of Arc rises to a point of order. ...
You are disgusting...you wrote it with glee. Yuck, so glad I don’t know you. Pity your family.
