"McDonalds is Hiring"

—SATIRE Alison Grimes—the anti-coal Obama supporter who has twice refused to simply admit that she voted for the now-toxic President Obama during the last two elections—called Ace Reporter Hugh Betcha to clarify her positions on the future of coal in Kentucky and her race to the finish against Mitch McConnell for his Kentucky Senate seat.

Hugh, winner of the Al Sharpton “Most Articulate News Reporter, 2014” award, a 2013 Nobel prize winner for his short story, “The Accomplishments of Barack Obama,” and recently feted on The View for his even-handed political reporting, a man who walks with kings and princes and a frequent guest at the White House, was happy to oblige. After a hastily arranged flight to Kentucky, he was met by Alison Grimes—who sported coveralls, a hard hat with head lamp and a face smeared with coal dust.

“Thought you might want some shots for your magazine,” she told the reporter—surprised by her unusual attire.

so she will have job fairs for unemployed miners??? Really??

Are there that many openings for jobs at McDonald’s in Pikeville and environs???

And how excited are these former miners, used to earning over $50K a year in some cases, going to be to go to work for minimum wage? Liberals tell us that the minimum wage is too low. Yet a good liberal such as this girl is going to try to get minimum wage jobs for these miners???? Really???

She’s found a lot of those “I made 9000 dollars in one week on the internet” jobs.

She says they’re listed like that all over the place.

So will she start singing, “I’m just a coal miner’s daughter’?...................

Ya, maybe her job fairs will refer the miners to the internet, and all these internet job scams.

But why is she even going there? Is she admitting that Obama’s energy policies are causing major job losses among miners, and does she approve of that???? Didn’t she say something about fighting Obama on that issue if elected????

Or is she just a good Democrat, who will roll over for Obama on every issue?? Or 98% of the time anyway???

There are no jobs to speak of other than coal in Harlan County. Obama would say, “Serves the ‘bitter clingers’ right”.

Despite her friendly democrat poll last week that had her only a point down, every other poll has her down 4-8. I’d say her most recent is an outlier. Odd though, the breakout on her poll says that McConnell is not liked by the college educated middle class, but most of them prefer a Republican victory. They also dislike Obama. I’m betting at the end they break for McConnell.

Thing is, Grimes is isn’t smart enough to dress like miner.

In her “Thats not how you hold a gun, Mitch” ad she looked/dressed as if she’d run up the ol’ campaign credit card on LLBean.com. I’m not quite sure thats what Kentucky sportsmen wear when they go hunting ...

Has anyone ever attended a job fair which is anything other than a low grade dog and pony show?

I've been to a number of them in my lifetime, both as a company representative and as a job seeker.

It has been my experience that the companies are there largely because they are coerced or told by corporate to be there for PR purposes.

The attendees are there because they think these shows are actually for real. The booths may even exchange some pleasant conversations with attendees and even accept handed in resumes which the corporate people might even turn in to HR who might even treat them as well as they treat any mail-in resume.

The main purpose is to showboat how this agency or that junior college is actually doing something and how they collected 480 resumes and had 35 companies participate, or whatever the figures are.

I'm guessing there might be an oil patch somewhere in North Dakota which doesn't fit this mold, but it is only a guess.

What are the experiences of the rest of you on Job Fairs?

My experience has been the same. I’ve been to a number of job fairs, met people, handed out resumes, but never got a job through one. Never had a real job interview through one either, aside from the brief tableside discussions with company reps at the fair.
