so she will have job fairs for unemployed miners??? Really??

Are there that many openings for jobs at McDonald’s in Pikeville and environs???

And how excited are these former miners, used to earning over $50K a year in some cases, going to be to go to work for minimum wage? Liberals tell us that the minimum wage is too low. Yet a good liberal such as this girl is going to try to get minimum wage jobs for these miners???? Really???

There are no jobs to speak of other than coal in Harlan County. Obama would say, “Serves the ‘bitter clingers’ right”.

Thing is, Grimes is isn’t smart enough to dress like miner.

In her “Thats not how you hold a gun, Mitch” ad she looked/dressed as if she’d run up the ol’ campaign credit card on LLBean.com. I’m not quite sure thats what Kentucky sportsmen wear when they go hunting ...

Has anyone ever attended a job fair which is anything other than a low grade dog and pony show?

I've been to a number of them in my lifetime, both as a company representative and as a job seeker.

It has been my experience that the companies are there largely because they are coerced or told by corporate to be there for PR purposes.

The attendees are there because they think these shows are actually for real. The booths may even exchange some pleasant conversations with attendees and even accept handed in resumes which the corporate people might even turn in to HR who might even treat them as well as they treat any mail-in resume.

The main purpose is to showboat how this agency or that junior college is actually doing something and how they collected 480 resumes and had 35 companies participate, or whatever the figures are.

I'm guessing there might be an oil patch somewhere in North Dakota which doesn't fit this mold, but it is only a guess.

What are the experiences of the rest of you on Job Fairs?
