Diarrheal diseases kill 700,000 children in India every year
Nationwide, at least two-thirds of Indias 1.2 billion people still defecate in the open, and many do not understand the dire public health consequences. Diarrheal diseases kill 700,000 children in India every year while also contributing to widespread malnutrition and childhood growth stunting, as well as diseases like typhoid and cholera. (1)
In an attempt to improve upon this situation, Indian leaders are taking on the taboo of public hygiene, one of the countrys great problems. Narendra Modi, Indias prime minister, says building toilets is a priority over temples. His finance minister, Arun Jaitley, set a goal of ending defecating in the open by 2019. That will be 150 years since the birth of Mohandas Gandhi, who said good sanitation was more important than independence. (2)

It's been an Axiom for at least 4,000 years.
You apparently have not been to Pakistan.
If they cannot be taught to deal with their own waste in a civilized manner, I do NOT want to prevent their deaths.
I am reminded, in graduate school, back when it was discovered that Alaskan Indians shared DNA with the Chinese (which was being used to ascertain ancient migration routes). I starting talking to my meek, mild mannered, Chinese office-mate and mentioned this story. I've never seen him become so angry, in denouncing the story as a pack of lies. There was absolutely no way that those savages shared any DNA with the ennobled Chinese. That was his story and he stuck to it.
>>>>Gandhi was murdered by an opponent of the abolition of the caste system.
Wrong.
Gandhi was behind/supported India’s partition and was favoring Muslims. He forced India to give big chunk of money to Pakistan. To force his demand, he was frequently go into fasting mode.
During partition, he became so unpopular that people/kids walking on street used to slap his posters or picture with shoes.
He also favored “Caliphate”.
Someone posted a link to some shots of India a couple months back and they were unbelievable. Just recalling it make my stomach churn, and I’ve got a tough gut!
Then, I had a job a few weeks back in downtown San Jose and in the blocks around St James park there, it’s pretty close to the defecation load shown in some of the Indian photo’s. Not to mention the guy plopping down and hitting the glass (meth or crack) 20 feet from us working the drill rig at one point...
Imagine Ebola in these places.
>Imagine Ebola in these places.
They don’t eat “Bush Meat”.
It will, shall we say, be imported? What if Ducan had gone to India?
“They dont eat Bush Meat.”
A guy I knew used to like to travel to India, and still does. He told me about a place he likes to stay while there. One of the features of this wonderful destination was that the pooping arrangement was on an elevated platform with a hole in it for squatting over. Just so happened that this platform was conveniently located over the hog pen. Whenever the hogs saw someone heading for the platform, they’d come running and anxiously await under the hole. I’m sure ‘Bush Meat’ is bad, but hogs raised in this manner must be an incredible disease vector.
Wrong.
Nehru was the Hindu leader during the independence negotiations, and the muzzies wanted partition, on the grounds that after separation the two new nations could come back together as equals. The killer of Gandhi was just a nasty elitist xenophobic cowardly prick who pumped three bullets into an unarmed philosophical pacifist.
If you’ve got some kind of credible evidence for Gandhi favoring the Caliphate, bring it on.

> By the end of World War Two, Nehru was recognised as Gandhi’s successor. He played a central role in the negotiations over Indian independence.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathuram_Godse
> Godse, a Chitpavan brahmin and Hindu nationalist activist from Pune, Maharashtra, had been a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Hindu Mahasabha. He left RSS in the early 1940s to form a militant organization, Hindu Rashtra Dal. He resented what he considered was Gandhi’s partiality to India’s Muslims, plotted the assassination with Narayan Apte and six others. After a trial that lasted over a year, Godse was sentenced to death on 8 November 1949. Although pleas for commutation were made by India’s prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and by two of Gandhi’s sons on the grounds that a death sentence would dishonour the legacy of a man opposed to all forms of violence, Godse was hanged a week later. This was the first execution in Independent India.

The Story of India 6 of 6 (time index 2700)
India has 1.2 billion people. There are plenty of places that are incredibly crowded. The very poor in urban areas have no proper homes or bathroom facilities. They may barely have a space to put a roof over their heads, but no space for a toilet. Having a toilet may not be on top of their list of priorities, as opposed to putting some food in their bellies.
Are you still posting the human misery porn? Do you get a kick out of human misery and suffering?
see above
Wrong.
I am telling you ground reality. What was happening at that time. What that generation saw, felt and narrated to us?
Gandhi was darling for West around partition, but most hated person in west and East India, they were effected by partition and violence around them at that time.
Are you still assuming you know the motive behind posts? Would you believe I feel pity for them, and think seeing such pics is educational and should help us here to be grateful for our standard of living and the beliefs, values and principals that enabled it, in God's grace?
And that it should help counteract the liberal propaganda that glorifies 3rd world countries and works to turn the US into one, with them over all as the elite who know best?
Just what prevents you from allowing any justification for such images?
