Some of New York’s most exclusive golf clubs would not let President Barack Obama play over Labor Day weekend, according to a report.
The Trump National Golf Club, Winged Foot and Willow Ridge rejected requests to let Obama tee off, which may have required the clubs to close their doors to regular members, WNBC reported.
White House staffers allegedly gave just a day or two of notice to golf courses in the area where the president was scheduled to stay on Friday evening after attending fundraising events in New York and Rhode Island.
Representatives of all three golf courses declined to comment to POLITICO. The White House did not immediately respond to POLITICO for comment.
Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest times for golf courses, and courses may not have wanted to inconvenience members, who can pay $100,000 a year or more in initiation fees, it was reported.
WNBC noted that while the president was scheduled to stay in Westchester County, N.Y., for a wedding the next day between MSNBC host Alex Wagner and White House chef Sam Kass, the White House told the media on Aug. 28 that Obama would not be staying in New York overnight. Instead, Obama spent Friday evening in Washington, D.C., and flew back north on Saturday afternoon.
Obama was teed off.

Three privately owned courses refused to disrupt an entire day of use by those who actually paid for it in order to cater to the whim of an entitled clown who spends every spare moment attacking those who are members.

The way the Kenyan plays so badly, he’d have to file an environmental impact study after play.
They have a responsibility to their members. Most of which are likely conservative (as are most golfers). Letting that idiot on the course would’ve resulted in nothing but negative results for the club.

Not only is he a self-important ass there’s no way obama is a good enough golfer to play at any one of those courses.
He’d probably shoot about 150 at Wingfoot.

It is really sorrowful when you read ANYTHING about this clown (sorry Clowns) and you have to check to see if it is satire.
I am not referring to the fact that PRIVATE BUSINESSES wouldn’t cater to his whims but the fact he made a 600 mi round trip AT OUR EXPENSE because he couldn’t get his way.
I am surprised he hasn’t made a statement along the lines of ‘knowing how his ‘people’ must have felt back in the day’ when they were denied access to ALL WHITE CLUBS or some BS along that line.

First of all, whenever HE travels, they fly TWO 474’s. And then there are at least 8 - 12 support aircraft for vehicles, etc. And don’t forget the royal dog aircraft. It’s a lot on planning and expense.
And so, when it is somebody else money, i.e. the taxpayers, why worry.
Let’s create the mobile presidential golf course!
The Saratoga is on it’s way to Texas to be scrapped. Now wouldn’t that make a great golf course that could be sent ahead to any coastal area the prez was going to visit?
Complete privacy. A little expensive but who’s counting as long as the entitled are catered to.
