As we close in on the 13th anniversary of the infamous 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, the media is full of predictions about attacks that will occur.
A September 2nd Debka File, an Israeli news agency, reported “Credible information has reached Saudi, British and Australian agencies that two al Qaeda branches—ISIS in Iraq and Syria and AQAP at its base in Yemen—have wrapped up plans to roll out coordinated terrorist spectaculars around the 13th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. According to Debka File’s counterterrorism sources, they are preparing to strike simultaneously in the Middle East and a West European city. Next, they will go for U.S. targets in the Middle East and Europe.”

Regardless of bo's "management" of isis from this point on, the us will put a rather large dent in their ranks, so there really is no downside for them.
The only limiting factor imo, is if they have pawns in place or not. I expect an attack.
Obama is part of their long-term plan for the USA, and I don't think they want to jeopardize that plan with some relatively small scale attack now. Perhaps some independent radical nut might try something smallish, but it won't be with the blessings of Obama and the radical Islam folks (same team).
Things are going too well now to jeopardize the long-range plans set for right after Obama leaves Washington.

I agree with you. If they were sure they could do something massive, maybe they would attack. But they don’t want to do something that looks insignificant or fails altogether, because maintaining their “invincible” image is very important to them.
However, I bet they’re having a lot of fun seeing how hysterical people are about the mere possibility of an attack, and are no doubt using that for propaganda purposes.
They’ve got a good thing going with Obama in the WH and they’re not going to do anything to interfere with that. I read that he wants to arm the “Syrian rebels,” who were the very same groups that gave us ISIS to begin with and who seem to have another group every day go off to openly join ISIS...so I guess ISIS is just going to sit back and wait for the weapons drops.

A few days ago I saw John Kerry speaking about the ‘strategy’ that is being developed to address the ISIS threat. I don’t know if any FReepers caught this, but one of the things he said was something to the effect that “we will address the propaganda that is improperly characterizing one of the world’s great PEACEFUL[emphasis mine]religions as being violent”.
Folks, the Islamists, including the apologists we tolerate in America, have been pushing for a long time to criminalize criticism of Islam. Be prepared for a full frontal assault on the First Amendment. This will probably follow the same template that the NAACP and other ‘black’ activist groups followed in criminalizing usage of the ‘n-word’.

They will leave the USA alone on 9/11 and hit probably 2 European cities (I’d guess Rome, Paris, Vienna or some of the more heavily Islamist infested cities in Norway, Denmark or Sweden.) I put Vienna in there because on 9/11 1683, they attacked Vienna and Jan Sobieski of Poland handed them their butts on a plate with an army only a quarter of their size.
A month later, when Americans have settled into getting ready for Halloween and we aren’t expecting it they will do New York or Washington.

However, although it is ever so slowly being realized by obama that the only thing the enemy understands is power and force, and that he is ever so reluctantly acknowledging this is so, obama is breathtakingly poor at projecting strength and leadership ... despite that he is the president of the United States has the full might of the U.S. military at his command.
There is no doubt in my mind that although it may be fully necessary, the tougher obama sounds tonight the louder the enemy will laugh.
I often thought 9/11 anniversaries would be a relatively safe day, but that was before Lord Arugula.
