Charles C Johnson, a freelance journalist who has been covering the Mississippi Senator race better than anyone in the mainstream media, Daily Caller contributor, TheBlaze contributor, National Review contributor, author of “Why Coolidge Matters”, and the guy who did the research to debunk Everytown for Gun Safety’s school shooting map, seems to have information that Michael Brown, who was shot and killed by law enforcement in Ferguson, Missouri earlier this month, may have been involved in a murder case as a juvenile.

According to AOL News,

An explosive new lawsuit filed in St. Louis seeking the release of Michael Brown’s juvenile criminal record alleges the slain teen was a gang member and faced a second degree murder charge.

The citizen journalism website GotNews took St. Louis County authorities to court Wednesday to secure the release of the records because it believes they do not need to be kept private since he is no longer alive.

The unarmed Brown was fatally shot earlier this month by white Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. He has no criminal record as an adult, but only because he had recently turned 18, claims GotNews Editor-in-chief Charles Johnson.

I don’t think you are going to get results arguing that the confidentiality can be breached because he has died.

There is precedent in Missouri for it which Johnson is using to argue for release. It was a similar case where a cop killed a young guy and the parents fought against the release of the son's juvenile record and lost.

It was a similar case where a cop killed a young guy and the parents fought against the release of the son's juvenile record and lost.

Because the parent of the juvenile was suing someone and the defendant was the one requesting the records. The Missouri statute says that juvenile records can be opened only on the order of a judge and only to persons having legitimate interest therein. I don't think an internet tabloid will be found to have legitimate interest.

Was there ever any verifiable proof of the ‘fractured orbital eye socket’ story? From what I’ve heard it was all based on some caller to a radio show.

Nope, no proof.
The original story was based on a person named Josie calling into a radio show (can't remember the name), who said she was a friend of Officer Wilson and that Wilson had posted about having a fractured orbital socket on FACEBOOK, of all places. No verification or anything, of course.

Would've ended there, but then Jim Hoft picked it up and ran with it, doctoring a University of Iowa test medical X-ray to pass it off as Wilson's, and sold it to every news agency and pundit he could find, saying it was leaked to him from the Ferguson DA. Total fraud.

Until there's proof, I keep thinking about the other criminal record presented as Michael Brown's and posted on FR. It was bogus. If this is as fake as Brown's previous 'criminal record' (or the CT scan of the orbital fracture), I won't be shocked either.

There's a grand jury but it only meets like once a week. It'll be months before they return a decision. By then the judge will probably decide that the need for the information, if ever justified to begin with, has long since passed.

If I were on the jury I would ask for the record as a means of judging behavior based on past behavior.

On FR it was reported as fact and on the eye-socket injury x-ray was always identified as belonging to someone else. . .best I recall.

We don’t know if the reported injury was ‘fraud.’
