Alas, given the backstory of DoD not wanting to arm the rebels, and given the unintended consequences of 2011/2012 from Operation Zero Footprint, and given an upcoming election in November 2012, you can see why in post September 11 of 2012 the Obama administration would want to discontinue this operation and throw a bag over the events of the past 17 months.

In my opinion, this body of work is Pultizer-worthy (illustrating yet again that work being done by those in "The New Media" far supersedes the output of so-called trusted "news" operations).

Think about it. President Obama authorized arming the Libyan rebels, but the covert nature of Zero Footprint actually reflects the political filter through which all Obama White House decisions are made. A White House team that always looks for an escape hatch in case any decision is ever publically wrong.
If the rebels were al-Qaeda, the covert op lends plausible deniability.
Isn’t it strange how in 2014 hindsight you can clearly see exactly what we now know as the “Benghazi narrative”; the use of their exact escape hatch because they were al-Qaeda, and it did go horribly and publically wrong.

The article does not explain why Stevens’ operation was attacked by islamists on 9/11/2012. Why attack a guy who was helping them?
OK. I understand that there is a fight in the Middle East basically between Saudi Arabia and Iran. I understand that Syria is viewed as being an ally of Iran and Turkey is viewed as being an ally of Saudi Arabia. I understand that Turkey became worried that the rebels in Syria were out of control and could become a problem for Turkey.
How does Libya play into this? Why does Qadaffi have to go?
I understand that even the Democrats might be worried about Iran. They might want to arm the rebels in Syria to get at Iran.
But why take out Qadaffi? How does that hurt Iran?
I fully agree with the author’s belief that this mess has been detrimental to The United States. But has it been detrimental to Hillary and Obama personally?
“Responsibility To Protect” is a concept from George Soros. It was this concept that Hillary and Obama used to justify taking out Qadaffi. Chelsea Clinton’s wedding was at the home of George Soros. That indicates a VERY close relationship between Soros and the Clintons.
Yes, there was a lot of covert action involved in Benghazi. But, was it covert to protect the interests of The United States Of America or the financial interests of the Clintons and Obama and Soros and the Democrat Party?
Trey Gowdy has the means to look at who benefited from the use of American taxpayer provided funds, equipment, personnel and facilities to overthrow the government of Libya. It is the investigation of Benghazi and Libya that will lead to the destruction of the Democrat Party.

We were arming Al Qaeda in Libya. Then we agreed to start arming Al Qaeda in Syria right next door to Turkey, with the arms likely coming through Benghazi.
Barak Obama and his advisors are morons of the highest order.

The truth will eventually be found in plain sight. I have never understood how the lid stays on what is taking place. Too many people involved. A secret usually ends when more than one knows it. How do they manage to keep secrets so tightly held? Is it because there are none but too much information to process? The internet has provided so much unfiltered information do we know what we can rely on and believe?
We look for what we expect to find. Not enough people are looking hard enough. Certainly not traditional journalists. Nixon was found out because someone looked and wanted to know and expected to find something.
