It is 2 a.m. Multiple home invaders have broken into your house. The homeowner manages to shoot two of the three, with solid hits. We do not know if the third was hit because the police have not found them yet. From wjtv.com:
One person was hit in the head and taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. A second person was found shot in the chest behind a house across the street several hours later. There is no mention of the homeowner being hit, so they probably were not injured. While the story does not give the address that this happened at, it gives the street and a picture of the house! As you can see from the picture above, there are many trees and some open areas. The street is not long, only about two and a half blocks. Security screens on all the doors and windows indicate that crime is a severe problem in the area.
Seems like its getting worse and worse but the stats show otherwise with violent crime down overall.
Citizen, do no believe your eyes and ears, believe government statistics, they never lie.
Crime is tremendously concentrated into relatively small areas.

does it seem like the number of “multiple intruder” type incidents is increasing? It could be that the number of people who are armed well enough to resist such attacks have increased and we just didn’t heard about people fighting them off before.
Yes, I am convinced that much of what we perceive is due to selective reporting and spiking of stories by the old media. As the new media gains power and reach, we are seeing a different mix of stories.
MS PING
Cochran voters for sure.
Since when is the "third" person a "them"?
I suppose “him or her” or “the other invader” could have been used. “It” seems inappropriate.
What would you suggest?
We do not know if the third was hit because the police have not found them him yet.
Feminazi stupidity to the contrary notwithstanding, the use of "him" in this context does not imply that the missing suspect is definitively male, but that the missing suspect's sex is unknown.
BTW, missing suspects (and other people) do not have "gender". They have "sex". Their sex is either male or female. Gender is a property of words: either masculine, feminine or neuter.
I despise political correctness.
Oh, yes:
That was good shooting by the homeowner. Definitely hit two of the three enemy, may have hit the third as well. It’s a fine example of gun control.
Thank you.
You’re welcome, Sam. May I call you Sam?
Always been a fan of your books. Are you as amazed as I am that “liberals” (so called) just don’t ‘get’ Huckleberry Finn?
Huckleberry Finn was an early “progressive” book. Mr. Clements would have been amazed at where that trend has taken us.
