Standard English language usage specifies "he","him", "his" etc for singular human beings of unknown sex. The sentence would properly read:

We do not know if the third was hit because the police have not found them him yet.

Feminazi stupidity to the contrary notwithstanding, the use of "him" in this context does not imply that the missing suspect is definitively male, but that the missing suspect's sex is unknown.

BTW, missing suspects (and other people) do not have "gender". They have "sex". Their sex is either male or female. Gender is a property of words: either masculine, feminine or neuter.

I despise political correctness.
