Conservative Republicans are still smarting from last Tuesday’s defeat in Mississippi. Evidence seems to be mounting that pro-Thad Cochran allies used rather unsavory tactics to draw out traditionally-Democratic voters to swing the election in Cochran’s favor.
But the focus of this post isn’t really those tactics or the legality of non-Republican voters casting ballots in open primaries. Instead, Republicans — both moderate Establishment-types and grassroots conservaitves — should seriously consider the fallout from Cochran’s victory — because of those tactics. They could have broad implications against incumbents, particularly when the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) gets involved in the race.

The GOP lost the Senate last week.
I just sent an email to Chris Wallace expressing my disgust with them failing to mention the hideous tactics used by the Republicans against McDaniel and how Rove failed to mention that those voters were democrats brought out by racist tactics used by the likes of him. Disgusting. Email Wallace and express your opinion of his little panel.
What is the email address?
Just love to send Wallace a little tip on how pathetic todays so called show was.
The GOP lost the Senate last week.
++++++++
I’m hoping for a pickup of 7 Dem seats and a loss of one in Mississippi.
There are now two gimme parties, one for the underclass and the other for the corporatists; both seek power to seize tax money as welfare for their favored supporters. The GOPe has sold its soul for crony capitalism, and just broke every rule to keep Sugar Daddy Thad Cochran in position to keep the government money pouring in for Mississippi's defense contractors.
The Republican establishment has libeled Mississippi conservatives and their candidate as racists, appealing to scared black Democrats overrule Republican voters and to choose the GOP nominee. This legitimization of false Democrat accusations is beyond the pale and must not be rewarded at any price. Mark this: if we will not clean our own house, we are not fit to clean up this country.
WHAT A CROCK
None of the three candidates are qualified to shine the shoes of the senator they are replacing.
from wiki:
On May 7, 1991, he was elected the 47th Mayor of Lincoln, defeating incumbent Mayor Bill Harris, with 54% of the vote.[8] He took office as Mayor on December 3, 1991. In 1995, Johanns won reelection with no opposition,
... Governor of Nebraska
On November 3, 1998, Johanns and his running mate David I. Maurstad, defeated Hoppner and his running mate Pam Bataillon in the general election, by a margin of 54% to 46%.[28][29]
...
He won reelection in 2002 by a landslide, defeating Democrat Stormy Dean by a margin of 69% to 27%.
Johanns was known for his strong stance on vetoing many bills, in 1999 Johanns vetoed 26 bills in only five days, more than any other Governor in Nebraska history.[38] In 2003 Johanns vetoed the entire $5.4 billion two-year Nebraska state budget. He said that he "could not accept a budget that raised taxes to grow government at a time when the state must cut spending," and called for a nearly 10% cut in every state government program.[39][40] Johanns vetoed legislation increasing the pay of members of the Nebraska Legislature, though the veto was overridden by the legislature; he also vetoed legislation authorizing teacher salary increases
ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN spout the Dem line
In exactly the same fashion, FOX spouts the liberal Establishment GOP line.
Conservatism goes ignored, though it keeps on happening across America even when all the alphabet networks pretend it didn't.
It's a force of nature. Sooner or later, what really happened is going to trump what the alphabet networks pretend happened.
Reality is going to hit the fan sooner or later.
Is that you Karl?
Do you really have no clue what time it actually is? We are already FAAAAR past that point you describe.
Too may Americans continue to reveal that they have a fatal case of Normalcy Bias.
There IS NO REMEDY TO STOP WHERE WE ARE GOING VIA CIVIL MEANS.
History is VERY VERY clear on this point and how and why Americans somehow think we are immune to the consequences we have sown for ourselves and allowed to happen is beyond my capacity to fathom.
The culture has already decayed. The spiritual morality of the nation at large is become rotten. The political class has become corrupt and evil. The government has declared it is above the law and will decree what law will now be.
The only remedy at this point, is national Repentance, followed by a horrifying and bloody struggle to undo what we have done to ourselves. And God may not grant to us a restoration of the Gift of Liberty since we threw it away turned from Him in favor of making government god.
If I lived in Mississippi I would not vote for Cochrane. I would write in McDaniel or vote for the rat.
Wonder if ol’ Thad even knows what’s going on - he seems a bit, er, distracted lately.
HA! They just discussed it like it was a normal race. Someone committed suicide over all of this for heaven’s sake. The lack of information was DISGUSTING.
Good! I hope she looks into it. The GOP played really dirty. Too bad they NEVER play that dirty against the liberals they run against.
Just go to Foxnews.com and look for Chris Wallace contact info. We need to let him know that we know what’s going on.
FOX aside from Sean and some of the girls is a main pillar of the GOPe
Roger Ailes is Roves enabler.....Rupert a distant monarch
Hume a court clarion like Krauthammer and Bret Baier
It sux
I’ve heard your argument here for 14 years
Used to be the harpies would swoop in and demand a zot for Bush bashing or not falling on our swords for the GOP
kinda looks like from here Fresno has moved on.....doesn’t it?
The forum is in open revolt against the GOP honchos and I see no bolts forthcoming from the clouds
You have it backwards.
We have to defeat the GOPe first.
Tpaine.....u were right wherever you are
New tagline.
We have to retake the government first. Then comes the GOP-e.
There is an alternative involving uniforms, sunglasses, and folded arms ...
But it's kinda hard to arrange in these northern latitudes.
1. They do not really understand the dynamics of the political process--for the course that they are following is absolutely suicidal.
2. They have completely lost their way, and do not even believe, themselves, that they have the ability to actually persuade honorable people, with honorable intentions.
I have long since come to both conclusions. There are still a few exceptions, of course. Yet people like Karl Rove have long memories, but the analytical ability of frogs, croaking in the night.
Anyone who takes a deep breath, sets aside emotions in any direction, and considers the recent behavior, will have to realize that what was done was not rational--not to anyone able to look as much as three weeks into the future. The players were not just shameless & unprincipled. They were clearly incompetent.
