Conservative Republicans are still smarting from last Tuesday’s defeat in Mississippi. Evidence seems to be mounting that pro-Thad Cochran allies used rather unsavory tactics to draw out traditionally-Democratic voters to swing the election in Cochran’s favor.
But the focus of this post isn’t really those tactics or the legality of non-Republican voters casting ballots in open primaries. Instead, Republicans — both moderate Establishment-types and grassroots conservaitves — should seriously consider the fallout from Cochran’s victory — because of those tactics. They could have broad implications against incumbents, particularly when the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) gets involved in the race.

Thad won the battle but lost the war
Very true. Just because I won’t vote for a Democrat doesn’t mean that I will vote for a Republican. I will vote straight ticket down-ballot, but at the Federal level, I will not vote for any incumbent who has betrayed our national platform. If that gives some seats to Democrats, so be it. . . maybe America just needs a little more pain before they are ready to re-engage in self-government.
That’s okay.
Thad can console himself with his farmyard friends.
They were talking about this on the Chris Wallace show on FOX today. The panel included Rove, Hume and a couple of others. Of course the horrendous dirty tactics used were not mentioned. They just talked about how amazing it was that more came out on the primary run off than came out the first time-again no mention that it was black democrats or why it happened. Disgusting.
Karl Rove stepped in it this morning when he inadvertently acknowledge the fraud by saying that more people showed up for the runoff than for the regular election — ya think Karl???
Yes...because even more liberal elements of the GOP are starting to smell the rat
I just sent an email to Chris Wallace expressing my disgust with them failing to mention the hideous tactics used by the Republicans against McDaniel and how Rove failed to mention that those voters were democrats brought out by racist tactics used by the likes of him. Disgusting. Email Wallace and express your opinion of his little panel.
Agreed.
OOPS! B^)
They have lots of pain in places like Argentina and Venezuela. But it has not caused re-engagement in self-government. Rather, it has only served to expand the dependent classes, making it impossible for conservatives to to regain control via the democratic process.
Any Republican is superior to any Democrat, if only because being in the majority gives control over the parliamentary process, allowing the true conservatives greater ability to be effective.
Their job is to help elect Republicans to the Senate not select who the Republican candidate will be.
How true. They were exposed. Interesting for sure.
The GOPe is dead.
Does Thad even know what happened? His puppeteers won the battle but lost the war, but it doesn’t affect them personally in the short term, so they may not care.
Agreed, the NRSC today is nothing but an incumbent protection racket. It deserves no support.
“Any Republican is superior to any Democrat, if only because being in the majority gives control over the parliamentary process, allowing the true conservatives greater ability to be effective.”
Ya don’t say....
That's pure bovine excrement.
Today, the GOP Ruling Class IS FAR WORSE THAN any Democrat MarxoFascist.
All traitors are.
The GOP can go to hell. They were instrumental in our demise as a nation. Judenrats for the MarxoFascists.
There is no stopping what is coming by the ballot box or via civil means. Period. The GOP Ruling Class just proved to us all that the electoral process is as corrupted and perverted as the rest of the cesspool that is the Federal Beast.
We will have to start over from scratch - if even the Lord will permit that which at this point I am doubtful about.
The two faces above would not look out of place standing next to Stalin at the May parades in Moscow.
