Consumer prices are skyrocketing. The price of meat, poultry, fish and eggs was up 0.7% in May. The price of chicken is up 50% in the last decade. There are some mitigating factors in these price increases. The cattle herd isnt very good this year and a pork virus has killed thousands of pigs. Nonetheless, with incomes stagnate price increases on staples such as meat and eggs is felt by the middle class. Consumer prices generally were up 0.4% in May after a 0.3% increase in April. Inflation has arrived after years of money printing at the Federal Reserve. (with the backing of Obama and to a lesser extent Bush)

This year we have a huge garden. And a masticating juicer. And we split a calf with a neighbor that we raise on his property with his other beef.
I’m also building a 30x35 greenhouse.
We might have to cut out bacon, though.
No middle class, no stability leading to collapse, remake society in your image.
Our chickens also produce an average of 13 eggs a day as well. They turn bugs and food scraps into eggs. They’re like little egg factories.
I’m reminded to plant the chickens some cucumbers this afternoon. They love them. Pick them, put them in the freezer then toss them into the pen first thing in the morning. Keeps them cool and ‘occupied’ all day.
We are going to get a couple of Nigerian Dwarf goats. Free milk, cream and butter.
Me too....4 eggs/day.
Try telling that to some people is like beating your head against the wall.
Some people have such a “normalcy bias” they simply refuse to see it.
Just like with the Soviet Union and Stalin they will tell themselves “Obama couldn’t possibly know or he would do something”.
Just give them your bank account number and they'll deposit it in your account...
Can't have chickens just sitting around and being bored all day........
What's that old saying? "Idle beaks are the devil's workshop...."
Chickens are one of the easiest things there is to grow, especially for what you get out of them.
I can just see God creating chickens, “Man, they are gonna love these things!”
If you have not seen this, you have GOT to see this.
On topic and absolutely hilarious:

Actually they’ll start pecking each other if they get bored. So idle beaks really ARE the devil’s workshop.
Dear Sir or Madam,My name is Abassi Abagdebe, I represent a high-ranking official in the Nigerian government who wishes to remain anonymous. I have come into possession of a number of goats . . . .
Grocery shopping last night I had a brief conversation with another shopper. She was all excited to purchase “chicken burgers with feta/spinach added. I remarked that, that was being done because beef is too expensive for most folks. The grocery store is trying to make eating cheaper still sound good to the wanna-be foodies. I was shocked when her quizzical look disappeared and she suddenly realized I was right.
We bumped into each other again in front of the hotdogs/sausage section and I pointed out that the “fancy” chicken and apple/chicken and bacon sausages were cheaper than the pork hotdogs.
My take away from this. I do not think the average American grocery shopper knows why the food prices are skyrocketing. And for now, the grocery stores are cutting back on the more expensive stuff and dressing up the cheaper cuts & meats.
They’re just now figuring this out? Food prices have increased 50% since 2008.
you know what will really help the middle class right now? New EPA regulations on energy production that will “skyrocket” the cost of electricity. And to help even more shut down oil exploration because of prairie chickens and sand lizards. Also, let’s force them to buy new insurance that costs twice as much and provides half as much service.
