Just for curiositys sake, were wondering what the reaction would be if Sarah Palin claimed to be dead broke.
Talk about fodder for the late-night talk shows and sketches for Saturday Night Live if Palin, the former GOP vice presidential nominee and governor of Alaska, ever uttered such nonsense, the political fallout would be severe.
Time will tell if Hillary Clinton, former first lady, senator and Secretary of State, pays a price for claiming to be dead broke when she and her husband, President Bill Clinton, left the White House in December 2000.
In a recent television interview hyping her new book, Hillary Clinton made the claim she and the president were in dire financial straits, at least at that time.
According to Clinton, it got so bad that she and Bill had to piece together the money for mortgages for houses, in addition to paying for their daughters education.
Unless your child is one of those exploited college athletes with a free or reduced-cost education, most Americans understand the struggle of paying for a childs education.
Is it really necessary to point out the idiocy of Clintons use of the plural form of the word mortgage?
According to www.politifact.com, the Clintons purchased a five-bedroom home in 1999 for $1.7 million. In 2000, they purchased a seven-bedroom home for $2.85 million, putting $855,000 down. (The website also rates Clintons claim of being dead broke as mostly false.)
The point is this, though.
Palin took serious political heat for a statement from a television interview that she never actually said that she could see Russia from her house.
Clinton, who is all but certain to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2016, has fired off more than one verbal firework in recent memory, but will likely survive.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
A lot, politically.
Actually if Palin said it, it be the truth but they will hang her anyway and claim her a liar
Give her a break, she was named after Sir Edmund after all.
Remember, Hitlery is a pathological liar like the rest of the family.
I don’t know, I saw a picture of Sarah one time that did she “wasn’t flat busted”!
I would like to know if “Dead Broke” is a normal term.
I’ve been on the planet for awhile and I’ve never heard it.
In her defense she is “Flat Broke”. That I understand.
This is miss Sarah in school.
“I may be busted flat, But I’m not flat busted.”
I enjoy her enthusiasm.
At least she didn’t have a tee shirt that said she was Dead Busted or Dead Flat.
Go Sarah go! Go TEA go! Take America back by restoring the Biblical principles that are the nation’s foundation.
This looks like a mainstream newspaper - someone is going to LOSE THEIR JOB there.

Is it me or does this make no sense?
Ive been on the planet for awhile and Ive never heard it.
Common phrase among my parents generation b1920’s.
It only fails to make sense if you retain the assumption that the media is impartial.
Let’s cut Hillary some slack! She’s probably still traumatized from dodging that sniper fire in Bosnia.
