One day after the GOPs Lee Terry opened the door to closing off compromises on Capitol Hill, Democrat Brad Ashford tells Nebraska Watchdog that Terrys talk is ridiculous, its disappointing.
Following Eric Cantors tea party ambush on Tuesday, Terry, an 8-term incumbent, told CNN, Do we compromise? How do we work together? All of this is now in question.
Ashford says the Cantor lesson is just the opposite. You cant find solutions without working together, says Ashford.
Terry, of course, is coming off his own Cantor-like primaryjust last month Terry survived a threat from his right wing, defeating Republican Dan Frei 53-47.
According to many insiders, it was a hollow victory for Terry who outspent Frei 20-1: $900,000 to Freis $40,000.
But Freis defeat launched tea partyer Chip Maxwells 3rd-party run which will arguably find Maxwell siphoning conservative votes from Terry, opening the door to an Ashford win in November.

LOL!!
Exactly how is an 11 point thrashing an ambush?
It’s important that we understand the CODE LANGUAGE used in articles like this.
The most important:
“Compromise” >>> “Selling out your voters and what you ran on to the Democrats”
The reason why things now work that way is because the Democrats will not move ONE INCH towards Republican positions. And that’s simply because they HATE Republicans and don’t consider them worthy of holding any office. So if the Republicans don’t come over, COMPLETELY, to the Democrat side, then the Republicans are accused of not being willing to “compromise”.
“Exactly how is an 11 point thrashing an ambush?”
No kidding...if you’ve got $5M to spend on a Primary, you have to be REALLY PATHETIC to not see what was coming at you.
“Tea party ambush”??>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Buahahahahahaha! Only the landed aristocracy of the KING would say that this free and fair election was an ambush.
The people have spoken. Thats no ambush. Its a mandate to stop implimenting elitist, political entitled class hoo haw,
like Congressional Reps escaping Obama Care. All but TP politicians are uppity in the extreme. How presumptuous!
PROTECT OUR SOUTHERN BORDER. NOW!
“In any compromise between food and poison, the only winner is death.” —Ayn Rand.
Compromise is highly overrated. Generally, it just a slower way for evil to prevail.
"In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit."
-- Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged)
Compromise - adopt the democrats agenda, smear true conservatives as extreme or fanatics and acted surprised when you finally lose your seat to a democrat.
Extremism is no vice.
There is a very strong possibility here that a Republican seat will to to a Demoncrat.
In Nebraska, the Demoncrat always gets 40% and the Republican always gets 60%. However, the Demoncrats often win. When two strong Republicans win, they split the 60%. Two Republicans at 30% each lose to a Demoncrat with 40% every time.
That was stopped about 10 years ago and Republicans started regaining ground, but it looks like it is back for this race. Ashford is strongly anti-gun owner. Always has been. He brought Sarah Brady to Nebraska many times when he was a State legislator. In addition, he has never seen a tax he did not love and cannot expand the welfare state far enough or fast enough.
And he might be our next Representative with what the stupid Republicans are doing.
the problem with the repubs is LACK OF LEADERSHIP and PLAYING DEFENSE... with obumbler its his way or the highway... THE REPUBS CANT COMMUNICATE A CLEAR MESSAGE AND DONT KNOW HOW TO COUNTER THE LIBTARD MSM LIES AND ATTACKS... emotion wins out over reason.... time the repubs or T party went on the offensive and call out the libtards for what they really are...NAZIS... who want to dictate ever facet of our lives and this is why radical islam and obama have formed a partnership... they think alike and obumbler is trying to use them while they are using him, willingly. He is an idiot who has created global crisis that can potentially lead to economic and world war...
While this was a free and fair election, not an “ambush,” I think we shouldn’t lose perspective and recognize it probably was a “perfect storm.” Cantor had been too focused on his national aspirations and was seen as ignoring his district, taking them for granted. That was not enough - the stories finally hitting that the illegal invasion was real, that people were sending their children in such large numbers it was overwhelming the system - that finally got enough voters attention they showed up and showed their anger at Cantor’s position on immigration reform. And finally it appears Cantor only had one opponent - there was a single “other” that voters could choose and they recognized it could make a difference.
I live in Boehner’s district. Plenty of people are angry with him, but he paid enough attention to his district and campaign here to not be seen as ignoring it. There were three other candidates, only one of which who would have been viable in November -and he finished in third place. Conservatives have to coalesce to make a viable challenge, and make sure their candidate is not going to be unelectable as we learned from the last election when the Republicans should have taken several Senate seats but had flawed candidates.

Of course it does, and that’s exactly what the intent is and always has been.
