There was something really creepy (to me) about the way Obama was caressing Bergdahl's wife as they walked the corridor and then how he wrapped his arms around both of them as they left the podium.

I think their relationship goes back further than last week.

Just a note: the very influential 19th century Calvinist missionary to Arabia, Samuel Zwemer, had this Arabic phrase engraved on a plaque in his office and it was on the banner head of his missionary magazine for decades.

Yes it was weird. However being happy for the release of your son by calling God “most gracious, the most merciful” in a language the the captors would recognize... (since it’s such a famous Islamic phrase) doesn’t seem entirely beyond reason.

Why praise God in the language of the captors? Praise God in your own language. If you must use the language of the captors then leave it at “thank you”.

BTW - Bergdahl wasn’t captured, he sought them out after first mailing home his possessions then leaving under cover of the night.

cover up the name of God at a graduation
bow down to a Saudi sheik
turn his back on Israel and support the Palestinians

release 4 hardcore terrorist in exchange for one American deserter-muslim

It is beyond reason. He had already been released so there's no reason to kiss up to his supposed captors.
