More than 60 people gathered in front of the Roanoke Sheriff's Office holding up signs that said 'Pray for the Release of Enrique.'
Most of the members say they are a part of St. Joseph's Church in Martinsville. They say one of their church members, Enrique Manriquez, was arrested while watering plants at the church. The Pastor says he was an arrested for being an illegal immigrant after living in the U.S. for 20 years.
A statement released by the church said, "But the officers were simply enforcing the laws. The problem is that the laws have grow obsolete. They do not reflect the reality of the situation in our American communities."
"We need new laws. And they need to release Enrique. His family needs him. His church family need him. The business he works for needs him. His American community needs him."
A call to the Sheriff's Office wasn't immediately answered.

This Church does not care if Enrique Manriquez,is using fake or stolen documents for employment. The Church wants laws based on emotions and what excually is the situation in our American communities ? They do not arrest illegals for watering plants. He has something else going on for an actually arrest to take place with Obama, in office.

Not one drop of sympathy. That he’s been here for 2 decades unmolested is nothing short of appalling and demonstration of a complete breakdown in the rule of law and the security of our borders.

Ship him ‘home’. He has no right to be here

An illegal alien is an illegal alien regardless of how long he’s been an illegal alien.

If they care so much they need to hire him a lawyer and pay his bail.

My guess is that there will be more to this story than a poor gardener getting swept up by the eeeevvviiilll police. Guessing there is a standing deportation order on him and maybe some other issues.

And if they want to play in the political arena, they need to start paying taxes. All taxes.

My son-in-law has spent over $1000 in filing fees getting a green card the legal way. It took him four years to complete the process. He still is not a U.S. Citizen even though he has been gainfully employed and paid thousands of dollars in U.S. taxes the full time.
What make Enrique better than my son-in-law? Just because he is from a favored ethnic group likely to be reliable Democrat voters?

What are the realities in your home country? Only America is stupid enough to have a welfare state and open borders. We are in a death spiral as a nation and culture.

Thing is... where is the sanctuary rule of these churches for Americans tracked by Obama? Oh, that is right, this is the kind of church that houses gay and islamic terrorists like in mosques only... only with selective consciousness objection.

Ship him home. He has no right to be here There are no doubt parish plants withering on the vine somewhere in Mexico - and lawns desperately in need of Enrico's care.
