Teen Dies After Police Shoved a Sharp Object Down His Throat to Retrieve Drugs that weren’t there

In Huntsville, Alabama police are facing no charges whatsoever after allegedly killing a 17 year old boy while trying to find drugs in his throat with a sharp object.

Mainstream media won’t touch the story, and of course, independent media fueled by citizen journalists broke this to the public, releasing the 16 page wrongful death suit filed by the teen’s mother, Nancy Smith.

According to the autopsy:

“Because of the circumstances of this event, it is difficult to discern if the decedent died from a drug overdose or an asphyxia event exacerbated by either the occlusion of the airway by the foreign object, a possible vascular occlusion associated with the neck restraint, or from a combination of all the events that transpired during this incident.”

The mother, who lost her young son to the violent monopoly of the state, filed a federal lawsuit in March alleging that her son was killed via assault and battery by the police who excessive force. She claims it was a wrongful death.

What is possibly even more disturbing is that the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences ruled this teen’s cause of death, “undetermined”.

That cold, robotic assessment seemed to contradict the very things the department found and reported. However police are denying any wrong doing.

They found that the teen suffered blunt force injuries, anoxic/hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, meaning his brain was starved of oxygen before he died.

So what actually happened? The mother’s lawsuit alleges that her son was setup in a drug sting. According to court documents, the teen was unaware of what was happening when an officer not in uniform, not identifying himself, rushed him. The teen proceeded to run, as anyone being chased by an unidentified man might do.

Next, the officer threw him to the ground, maced him, and handcuffed him.

The autopsy adds that his “neck was restrained”.

The Smith family lawsuit says police told paramedics that the teen swallowed a bag of illegal drugs.

What happened after this is not very clear, but this is what we appear to know:

The police proceeded to shove a sharp object down the teen’s throat to allegedly extract drugs. As of yet, the sharp object has not even been identified.

Drugs were never found in the teen’s throat, stomach, or bloodstream.

The actions of the victim’s family seem to indicate that they believe the police killed their son.

How does someone die from lack of oxygen, if it has been proven that nothing was stuck in his throat?

It would make quite a bit of sense if the teen died from lack of oxygen because the sharp object shoved down his throat by the police cut his throat and rendered his breathing organs useless.

Why is there seemingly zero footage of this? Why is no one being arrested or as much as even truly investigated in this police department?

A bit late into the investigation it seems, the police admitted “evidence”: 2 giant ziplock bags full of MDMA (ecstasy) that they claim was on his person.

This is highly disturbing and almost no one is reporting on it. Please share this with as many people as possible so the potential killers here will be known. Sharing this info would be a powerful act of information spreading, given that almost no one knows of this situation.

Your post opined that he got what was coming to him. That the police were justified in their conduct.

I am saying, that the police are NOT tasked with bodily retrieval of anything. IF he swallowed it, guess what? It is now contained in his body and can be retrieved, MEDICALLY!, in a hospital or Dr Office, either by regurgitation, or waiting for it to pass.

I have a problem with police doing procedures outside their training, outside their commissioned purpose. Increasingly, they seem to see themselves as executioners, not police.

And, you sir seem to be ok with that.

Really? We don’t know if he was a liberal? So, THAT would make it all better?

You’re a sad human being.

“Another freeper who loves the taste of Kiwi?

You don’t even make sense but you “name” doesn’t either so it makes sense.”

OK, I guess I need to diagram the joke for the lower IQ crowd. (or maybe just for you)

Kiwi is the number one brand of black boot polish. If you ever shined a shoe or served in the military you would have heard of it. Referring to loving the taste is an oblique reference to licking boots that have been polished with Kiwi shoe polish.

I retired from the military. However, I imagine you are in your 70’s which is why you use such old stuff.

LOL! A phase I use all too often here, accompanied by nice photo of Kiwi Boot Polish can, black of course.

If the reply warrants a bit more oomph I add the question, “when you spit shine their boots, do you use your spit or theirs?”

Kiwi polish, matches, cotton balls, and some water in the lid. The old fashion way ;>)

You sir were brainwashed by your 24 years in the Navy , a world in which you switch off your brain and just follow orders , a world in which you know immediately by uniform who and what everyone in your orbit is...

What the hell difference does your comment “He may be a liberal for all we know. Why not wait for the facts.” have to do with anything ,, so it’s OK with you for people to be murdered for their politics?

Here’s some facts:

The kid is dead
The cops killed him
Months later the cops “find” a “huge” bag of drugs on the body (WTF??)
The reports show no crime was committed ,, only suspected ,, and even those reports are juiced up with cop lingo to make an innocent boy appear guilty ... with NO evidence.

"new Keyword for the topic Arrest-Related Deaths To All: please add it to relevant articles. . . arrestrelateddeaths "

Thanks, will do. When searching to see if this had been posted yet, I didn't know what to search for.

BTW, I asked from the beginning if anyone had more information about this. I hate it when Freepers insult and tear into each other.

******

Quoting Jim Robinson on searching article titles, (search box at the upper right corner of the main forum page) . . .

"The FR search works best if you confine it to one or two significant words of the title (usually one is all you need) and stay away from words of three characters or less. Those don’t work at all.

And avoid typos by using cut and paste rather than typing the words in. Also, it appears that some people are not choosing the “Title” option in the pull down. That’s required if you wish to search by title."

. . . . . . . . .

The FR "title" search will bring up recent articles with your search term(s) in the title, and that would be good for your purpose. Under the last article on the results list there is "Click to show more articles ..." in case that is needed.

Many folks have said, and I agree, that search engines are quite effective in searching FR more extensively. Search Free Republic by putting "freerepublic.com" in the box next to "at this domain name" at any "advanced search" page, such as this one (Start Page advanced search) . . .

I try to add a relevant Keyword to articles that I’m interested in. It’s amazing to see the list of FR articles for some Keywords going back as far as 2001, and the original source articles may have subsequently disappeared from the internet.

But Keywords only work when people add them to the articles. I know there have been *many* articles posted here about people dying during an arrest or afterwards. But I couldn’t find one Keyword to access them. I recently tried “deathincustody” but there are only a few recent ones on that list.

So I just found that the Justice Dept. uses the term “Arrest-Related Deaths”, and their definition of it seems to encompass various causes and scenarios during or after an arrest where a death occurs. Apparently they have a system to report such incidents.

This was the first article to have that Keyword attached to it...so now that you and I know about it, we can start a list of them on FR :)

re: "...more information about this"

Through Google News search and other searches I found only one mainstream media article, and it also has a link within it to a Huntsville Times article. . .

Click for>> CBS News "Crimesider" article

(site would not load for me until I temporarily disabled my ad blocking software)

I always thought their should be an edit button. Sometimes when you type especially when quick and not thinking, it would be nice. I would like to get rid of some of my comments on this thread.
