The 19 is one of my favorites too... had a bunch of them over the years. Only one now, a pre-19 (Smith started model number in 1957) first year of manufacture 1955. Butter smooth and fast.
Glad to hear you and your colleagues came through ok, even the guy who took on an AK-47 with a revolver. Got a question though: did you guys cock the hammers with your thumbs — that would make trigger action better and eliminate staging.
Nice quote.
sorry to hear you lost them all in a boating accident.
hopefully they were all corrupt cops.

Not for good double action shooters.
Having fired tens of thousands of round through double action revolvers.
Tens of thousands of rounds through autos of all types semi autos.
There isn’t a time different for a well practice user.
Good for you. No doubt that lots of practice can overcome lots of difficulties, and many like DA. Many others find the DA (with a long pull, initially heavy, changing to lighter pull) encourages staging to improve accuracy. Different strokes.....In a revolver, it does save having to fan, but why use DA in a semi-automatic?
I’ll stick with my XDs. They don’t cost as much as these and my pattern it tight.
Interesting. I read somewhere that, when the Brits were fighting the MauMau in Kenya, ammo was in short supply, so they were told to switch from automatic to semi-automatic. Their results were far superior when they stopped spraying. I guess sprayng is good for covering fire for an advance, but not much else.
“I’ve been a CZ fan and advocate from way back”
I agree with you completely that the CZ is a worthless gun and I remembered your post from the other day, sooooo
I received a CZ 75D Compact Airsoft (BB gun) in the mail the other day from Sportsman’s Guide.
It looks almost exactly like my P-01! Yes, a very poor pistol, but oh well ...
This airgun is licensed by CZ, even has rubber grips and their logo, adjustable sights, slide moves but no blowback, double and single action.
High quality (considering what a bad gun it is modeled on, but thought you might be interested. Haven’t `shot’ it yet but if it shoots half as good as it looks—considering it’s a POS, anyway—I plan to sharpen my skills in the basement and save a lot of ammo.
Made by Aftermath out of Miami, about $35.00.
PS I have the 97B and the Kadet too, and each is worse than the other, they both sucketh mightily. Just dayum, man I hate CZs.
It was tragic.
