I was with my brother when he was refilling his prescriptions today. Cost of 3 month supply of Fenofibrate at Walgreen's was $400. He's been told that's a bargain for medicare patients.
$400 for 3 month supply of a generic drug?
They can frequently save you a substantial sum on a 3 month supply. CVS has a mail order division. It is how my in-laws get all of their subscriptions
The highest price for 100 doses at costco is $276.84 for 200 mg. For other dosages the price ranges from $55.06 to $155.50. You DO NOT need to be a member to use the pharmacy and you can do mail order if no store is nearby.

So $400 is a bargain, eh?
Oh and that’s the cash price, no insurance needed.
viread at 700+ for a month... at a canadian online place , you can get generics for 1/3 price. it treats hep b or Hiv.
Same pharmacy, with coupon, 160 mg, #100:
Walgreens

I use these coupons and have never had them refused.
I get mine at Target and never paid near that. Cash.
I just received my prescription today; mailed at no charge.
My insurance co. pays $126 for a 3 month supply (I pay $20 co-pay).
I need an asthma drug that was FDA approved and legalized in the US nearly forty years ago. It’s an inhaler of an ordinary steroid drug. There is no generic or even anything of the same sort. $250 per month. With it, I can lead a pretty much normal life, with care. Without it, I gradually regress into someone who is constantly a little sick, or a lot sick; I get run down, start taking copious amounts of steroids, and turn into an invalid. Annoying, to say the least.
Thank the greenies ... that inhaled used CFC’s which were banned. When they chose another propellant and had to go through all the FDA folderol, guess what? A new patent and a new cost. But you are keeping the ozone hole small so it’s all worthwhile. /s Happy breathing!
I have elevated triglycerides which is what fenofibrate treats. I also have elevated cholesterol levels.
I was prescribed fenofibrate several years ago. It made me feel terrible and didn’t do much for my TG levels.
I switched to Slo-niacin 500mg per day. No prescription and $12 for 100 tabs at Walmart. My TG are now in goal range.
I just picked up my Tricor scrip yesterday at Kroger. 30 day supply, with insurance, $14.00...
Got a link to the pharmacies? Thanks lots.
Go to goodrx.com.
It’s not a pharmacy. Savings using their negotiated rates can be very substantial, as in 1/3 to a 1/4th of the cash price depending on the drug.
Put in his dosage and # of pills and see what it could cost.
120 tablets at 160 mg. Under $105 at cvs through them here locally.
Like I said up to 1/4th the cash price. Walgreens is at $111

Also, he needs to talk to his doc about 2 cheaper alternative fibrates
Most docs are clueless as to what they are prescribing costs.
i use northwestpharmacy, note that only some medications are cheaper because you could get generics, where they are not availabe in the states.
