On Friday, in Geneva, Mexico signaled alarm at the treatment of its large Mexican minority in the United States, comparing American actions to prevent the use of Spanish to attempts in Ukraine and Estonia to prevent the use of Russian.
While Mexicos foreign policy has been generally benign toward the United States since hostilities in the Mexican-American War ended in 1848, the Latin-American country has been keeping a close eye on developing events in Ukraines Crimea peninsula.
Russia has maintained that annexation of the Crimea peninsula is justified because it has the right to protect Russian speakers outside of Russias borders.
Mexican political leaders have taken note, perhaps sensing an opportunity to gain long-lost territory and increase the size of its economy by expanding northward into areas currently administered by the United States.
Mexico has begun enthusiastically supporting protections for linguistic minorities, a Mexico City diplomat told the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Language must not be used to segregate and isolate groups, the diplomat said, according to details provided to The Daily Caller by the U.N. Mexico has officially expressed concern about steps taken in this regard by belligerent elements in the United States.
As an example, the Mexico City envoy mentioned a Texas middle school principals attempt to ban the use of Spanish in classrooms.

That was part of it, but overall men then KICKED ASS.
Polk should have built a wall after the war, IMO.
If the Mexican Govt. thinks it can grab part of the SW, I’ve got news for them.
WAR.
I don’t believe in most wars, but this would be justified for Mexican War 2 1/2 (if you count Pancho Villa, and the current gangs invading parts of CA and other states along with the border war).
Let’s negotiate with Mexico. We can give them San Franciso in exchange for La Paz and Cabo San Lucas.
Alamo V2.0?
Why shouldn't it happen? If the US allows itself to be invaded, won't protect its border, and won't defend its citizens, we're a failed nation. The answer is to put troops on our sourthern border and send home the invaders.
I would support people voting themselves out of the US.
They can’t have the land back. They can have their people back.
Unexpected???
Who thinks Obama has any problem with this?
Do we have anyone in the mainstream with a big megaphone who truly understands the left is destroying America?
Where is the Mexican army going to go and beat people up? Please, to be a bully as you put it in the sense that the Russians are, and i agree 100% with that assessment, in a military sense you still have to go in and act the part. Nobody thinks nukes are any part of the equation here.
Could Mexico send their army south and be anywhere near as successful as the Russians?
The United States could break up quite fast given the right conditions. People call me crazy, but the state I see as first to leave will be Alaska. The people there can break away much more easily than the rest.
Why wouldn’t they? It’s not like Ubama would do anything about it.
Naah.
Mexicans are happier in the US than Mexico...
Lucky for mexico the USA is being run by a bunch of pussys. They already send us their criminals and idiots and we take them in like lost children.
Even more depressing, the spanish speaking illegals that come here and stay don’t use birth control. We are soon to become a leftist paradise with no middle class.
I am sure there are some who will support annexation be Mexico
What took them so long? Will they invade the Rio Grande North Bank in order to continue bilingual education? Will Obama cede it back?
I could see that illegal POS alien in the White House handing over the entire American South West to them by executive order — and the Senate would go along with it.
they’ll employ the drug gangs for a share of power....and we know how that’ll work out.
“difference is Russia can kick ass while the Mexican army is corrupt”
You are forgetting of course that the Russians didn’t use their army to take Crimea.
This story is not as stupid as it may seem at first glance.
It may not happen this year or even this century but I can definitely see it becoming a serious issue at some point.
