Wanna know how to smackdown a union protest? Subaru in Wichita gets it done!

The Subaru dealership in Wichita had the temerity to hire non-union drywall workers and the carpenter's union there described it as "desecration of the American way of life."

This is how they responded...

Get that? the freedom to hire whomever we want is un-American, and the unions are preserving freedom and liberty by preventing it from being exercised.

That makes complete logical sense to the liberal mind.

But wait ...Subaru is the chosen car of the liberal left. In fact Subaru aims their advertising at them. Something isn’t gonna set well with this news coming out.

Subaru not only builds a great car, they do it without the UAW. Why would they want another hack lefty union to install their drywall?

So let me get this straight...a dealership that sells Japanese cars is desecrating the American way of life by not hiring American union labor?!

Our son and wife in Seattle just bought a 2014.
Cheap to buy. Cheap to run.

Wife had a 23 year old Suby and they knocked off $1,000 for the junker...

Had the dealer hired a union shop to do other work on the project? I really don't see what their beef is. As I understand it, Kansas is RTW. The dealer should be within their rights to remove the union signs if they are on their property, but I think this action is hysterical, and whoever thought it up should get a nice, fat bonus.

My Subaru was built in the United States and had a higher U.S part content than the Ford I bought.

I wonder if they used a union banner company?

They'll spend $500 or so on small mechanicals and a clean up and sell it to a kid for $1,995. The kid will drive it 3-4 years and sell it for $750.

Had almost the same experience with the aged Honda Accord which I was trading in on a new Honda Fit. Two days before the dealer prep was scheduled, I decided to list it on Craig's List for double the dealer's offer just to see what happened. Had 27 inquires on it and the cash in hand 36 hours after the internet listing went live.

It was funny when the ultimate buyer was giving it a look. He had a guy waiting behind him and another on the way out. No way did he even bother to dicker on the price.

If you are mechanically inclined and willing to put up with a few cosmetic defects, these cars seem to last forever. The last GM car I owned was ready for a trip to the junkyard after 120,000 miles. Never again.

They hired a contractor. The contractor bid out the jobs. Apparently the company who got the contract to hang the drywall was non-union.

and you can bet that the drywall workers are of the same Demographic that union supported Democrats are tripping over themselves for.

In that case, they are picketing the wrong company. There are at least two more logical targets: The contracting company, and any subcontractors that are unionized but worked anyway.

You're probably right.
But the Suby dealer won't bother.

A small, independent dealer will pick this car up and split the proceeds.
I've seen it done.

Fords these days are just junk.

Thanks UAW union for destroying what used to be the worlds greatest auto company. Hope you’re happy now.... NOT!

My son and DIL (Texans) bought a new Subaru last year. Drove it to California on their vacation and just loved it. It also sports a bumper sticker which reads “We drive a Subaru but vote Republican.” Said they received some interesting comments from people, particularly in San Francisco.

I’ve never thought it a good idea to put a political statement bumper sticker—or any other type of sticker, for that matter—on my cars. That just invites damage to your car.

I don’t do bumper stickers either was really surprised that they put it on their car, particularly a relatively new one. Found it on the internet, ordered it and gave it to them as a joke. They do have two small stickers on their back window, one for the Baptist school where my grandson attends and one for the Baptist church where they go. School one is necessary in order to drive onto the premises.

I think they are just getting tired of what is going on. Kids surprise you sometimes.
