Both his arms are clearly reaching up. The arm by his back is darker than his arms.

And there's the problem right there. I don't know what you mean by that statement, but I do know what I think I can see.

For you to make yourself clear, you need to caption the image with a statement of WHAT IT IS YOU THINK YOU SEE.

follow the line of his shoulders. It looks to me like the right arm is simply closer to the surface than the left.

Where is he holding an uninflated jacket? His arms are both right in front of him. Are you saying there’s a life jacket in his hands?

Not what I see; I see his right arm reaching up, and illuminated by sunlight, while his left arm, in shadow, is at his side, holding a yellow life jacket. But these photos are not clear enough to say anything definitively.

For another example, each time this image is shown, and I have no way of knowing, while I'm looking at it, over what period of time the numerous similar stills were taken, it seems that this person isn't moving in any way, their arms don't appear to move nor do the legs seem to change position, so it's a safe bet to assume this person isn't treading water and isn't conscious. That's what made me think it might be Fuddy. Her arm shows up as white, that's because the light falls in that direction, but her back is in shadow, so the garment appears to be dark.

The jacket is barely sufficient to hold her head out of the water, and if she's lucky, it's doing what it was designed to do, keep her face out of the water and stop her from drowning. The jacket needs to be fastened across her back to stay on, and what you see across her back is part of the jacket, therefor it's the same colour.

Is it Fuddy? I have no way of knowing.

There’s also a hint of that purple pattern on the shoulder in that previous image I posted. That might indicate it’s Fuddy.

That’s what I see too. There are 2 elbows, 2 hands - both reaching up to the surface of the water in front of him. The skin area in front of him is too wide to be one arm and shows the boundaries of each arm. IIRC other images in the series of shots (which are consecutive. Except where I noted, I showed every frame that was in the bandicam recording.) also show the arms separated from each other in front of him; I think I mentioned that in the narration of the youtube.

Gotta get to Bible study.

That's what you think you see, but I have to tell you, no body treads water with both of their arms extended up and in front of them in exactly the same position. His left arm is on the left of his body and his right arm is out in front of him, reaching the surface. That's how you balance yourself in the water. With both arms in the same position, you sink.

It seems to me what you think is one arm above the other is a reflection.

The one upthread with the right arm angled down has a different body shape than Ms Fuddy... has white bunched up toward neck....

And on second and third looks, that faint touch of purple on the sleeve and shoulder now has me almost convinced that is Fuddy, and she's motionless, with probably only the top of her head showing on the surface.

I’m not that good at figuring out what is there and who is who in the water. What could really add to all this is in-person interviews with those who were in the water at the time.
I think that could possibly confirm some of our suspicions if we interviewed someone on the scene in the water. absent that I have a hard time telling what is what.

OK #204,

so what you are saying is that one arm is horizontal, and its flesh toned, and the other is angled, and is reflecting light.

(Need the timestamps along the bottom of the vid, here.... its hard to tell the sequence...)

If butter were to present, for example, that image of Fuddy which I have now posted several times, (and regardless of what various impressions we might have) enter a caption beneath the image:

Is this a photograph of a dolphin with a speargun?

We could respond with a simple YES or NO.

But what we see is a series of stills from a less than perfectly clear video, and a question:

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

So some are going to see nothing but a blur, some are going to see the Madonna, some will see something sinister, and they are all going to argue with each other.

The method isn’t going to achieve anything, imo. So change the method.

Maybe CAN YOU SEE WHAT I SEE would work better. But to do that, butter, you have to be prepared tell us what YOU THINK YOU SEE.

I see you are being ridiculed for trying to analyze various aspects of the footage. I see nothing wrong with that. It is systematic intellectual curiosity that has led humans to discoveries, not always, but often enough to make it worth while to keep thinking.

I read your reply three times and it doesn’t make sense, there are images of two different people and it sounds like you are confusing one with the other.

Hard to argue with what you say Fred.
Absent an expert in the field of tearing apart video and putting it back together I’m still of mind of interviewing those on the scene. I don’t see any other means of getting to what happened when, where and why.

Yamamoto - one hand near the sruface, the other by his left side, possibly holding a jacket.

Maybe Fuddy, probably not conscious, no movement showing in several images, face and top of head possibly barely out of water. Slight pruple tinge on sleeve suggests it's Fuddy.
