A Friendly Visit From the FCC

It appears, per Bud Norman, that with the exception of FOX News and the editorial pages of the Wall street Journal, the MSM really isn't bothered by the FCC's announcement that they're going to be checking up on what stories are being reported and how they are covered. Well, when your already the organ of the ruling party, that doesn't bother you.

The Fox New Network is on the story, possibly because they’re the ones whose reporters have treated as criminal co-conspirators and excluded from the White House news pool and routinely criticized by every level of the administration, and the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page and the radio talk shows have been paying some attention for obvious reasons of their own, but otherwise the story has gone largely unnoted. In our years of journalism we endured many a journalist’s self-righteous sermon about the obligation of the press to bravely resist any governmental interference, but that was mostly during Republican administrations, when nothing like the FCC’s current curiosity and the nation’s slide down the rankings of press freedom ever occurred, and at this moment of hope and change none of the over-the-air networks seem terribly concerned that their notions of the news consumers’ critical information needs will differ much from the government’s.

If proof is needed that the MSM is composed of Democrats with bylines, this is all the proof you really need. A watchdog doesn't growl at his master.

The mainstream press and their talking heads are criminal co-conspirators. They are the “Fifth Column” in America, and are no longer the “Fourth Estate” that they purport to be. They are, in fact, collaborators with a Communist regime that won’t rest until it has created a Goebbels-esque propaganda monopoly.

This is how Weimar Germany fell. A majority of the people did nothing and watched as their former republic grew into a police state. People are watching for “signs” akin to Nazi Germany without realizing that a police state can grow from many different directions.

America is a soft tyranny right now, but people aren’t feeling the pain yet. When the pain becomes unbearable for the poor, it will trickle up to those with means, but the police won’t help those people. They’ll be protecting the interests of the government (the few) over the nation (the People). When that happens, anarchy ensues.

Decree Establishing The Reich Minister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda of 13 March 1933

A Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda is herewith established for the purpose of enlightening and propagandizing the population with regard to the policies of the Reich Cabinet and the national reconstruction of the German fatherland.

The chief of this agency has the title "Reichsminister of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda."

The Reichschancellor defines in detail the duties of the Reich Minister for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.

In agreement with the other Reich Ministers concerned, he defines the duties which are transferred from their jurisdiction to that of the new Ministry. This will be done even in cases where the jurisdiction of the Ministries concerned is affected fundamentally.

  Berlin, March 13, 1933

The Reich President VON HINDENBURG
The Reich Chancellor ADOLF HITLER

A "political minder" in the newsroom, and most everybody in the Fourth Estate is cool with it.

Our country is in a screaming nosedive.

Color me totally not surprised that the administration’s lapdogs in the MSM are not making a big deal if this proposed FCC intrusion. After all, it is obvious they already ok virtually everything they run with the administration first. Two, they were no doubt already given their marching orders on this: downplay it.

One question for reporters is: “Have you ever suggested coverage of what you consider a story with critical information for your customers that was rejected by management?”

And if they say yes, then what? This is just another way to use up taxpayer dollars, IMO. Maybe there’s something really bad coming up soon and they want people to focus on this to take their attention away from that. Squirrel!

I pity the poor FCC schmuck who would be assigned to spend all day with Brian Kilmeade and Bill O’Reilly.

The day the FCC actually begins to do this, every single one of us needs to fire up a pirate radio station.

Go Cloward-Piven on them.

When 0bama's FCC gestappo show up in the newsroom:

Do not give them any of your time,
ignore them if possible and go about your daily business,
pretend not to hear, understand their questions or answer a completely different question (favorite lefty tactic BTW)
DO NOT provide them any courtesy such as water, coffee, desk, chair, etc.
pretend they are invisible

These tactics have been used against "government assistants" in the past and the eventually get bored and leave. These morons are used to getting major attention and can't cope with being ignored.

If the Gestapo was the German Nazi secret police, is the DHS the DHStapo?

And I’d ensure that any coffee they obtained was laced with laxatives, the tires on their car would be flat every day, etc etc etc.

Hi, I’m the FCC media diversity compliance officer assigned to freerepublic. This conversation must end immediately! You are all out of compliance and this incident will be logged in all of your IRS audit log files. Further non compliance will result in a fine or arrest.

Thank you,

Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was on FNC a little while ago discussing this and how bad it was. She said she’s putting forth a bill in the House today. I suspect the House will pass it, send it to the Senate and Dirty Harry will sit on it like he’s done with most of the other bills he’s received from the House this year.

The problem is, only Republicans and Libertarians care about this, and a few Democrats. Most Democrats would be delighted to see Fox News become another CNN or MSNBC.

Comparisons with Nazi Germany are done so often that they lose their effectiveness. It might be better to draw parallels with Communist regimes...and more correct since Obama and liberal Democrats are more aligned with Communist ideology.
