Its hard to figure out what to make of the people in this story. Should these people be laughed at or pitied?
Recently a group of 25 self-described Students of Color held a sit-in to support poor English writing skills. They whined about the racism of being offered constructive criticism of their lack of grammar, spelling and punctuation abilities.
As products of dysfunctional government schools, many if not all of them have little or no writing skill. Many of them dont know they have no writing skills. They have been lied to and had their heads patted so often by paternalistic liberals they can no longer recognize the truth about their shortcomings.
We can expect little else from students who have never been dealt with honestly.
What makes this situation still more ridiculous is that the target of their protest was...

Please tell me that’s a joke
Yeah, well I had to work with boob from Haiti who by himself could be blamed for the condition of his country. He said he was smarter than me because he spoke French. I then proceeded in French to tell him I knew everything he had said about me. Qu’elle surprise!
When I taught inner city kids, their refrain to other black kids who were raising their hand and participating in class was “Why you always actin’ so white?” That always got a write-up from me for making racist comments, so they tended to not do it much in my class. Even when I heard it in the hallway and not in my class, I’d write them up.
golly, the newspapers are geared to a very low reading level (something around the fifth grade by current standards)
I would rather have them read from McGuffey’s readers that were used for eighth graders back at the turn of the 20th century
“I have a friend who is a professor in Queens College in NY, he asked me to read several essays from his students. These kids should never have made it to high school, never mind college.”
A couple of years ago I set next to a lady on a plane who was grading some essays to pass her time. I glanced at them a few times and assumed they were high school level assignments from the presentation and general appearance. Some very sloppy. In talking with her I learned she was a college English prof. I was shocked at what was being turned in to her as final, finished English papers. It was junior high/high school level work at best and in my days in college (not that long ago) I would have had such poor material rejected outright.
I bet if you axed ‘em they could tell where the closest Licka store is.
I can top that. A family member who, at the time, was a Chief Detective, let me read from a binder of police reports of his officers. I was astonished! These are legal documents that are often used and read in court. About 50% were written at a about a 4th or 5th grade level (I would guess). Phonetic spelling, run on sentences, past and present tense conflicts, improper punctuation, no punctuation, all caps and things that make no sense at all. I told the Chief, "I'd get fired if I published things written like this at work." He said many of those have been re-written already.
Oh now that just is not fair.... I had a nice breakfast that is now gone to ruin
Then, you'll never have to know WHY you didn't get the job.
George Orwell wrote that if you can control the language you can control thinking. I’m going to make a leap of logic and guess that whatever passes for ebonics today would be inadequate for a discussion of Plato, a lesson on magneto hydrodynamics or surgical rounds.

So true. And now they feel an overwhelming sense of entitlement with Obama and Holder feeding their racist resentments. But the liberals refuse to see reality.
Just hand these “students” diplomas from “ULCA.” They’ll never notice the difference and it will give the real world a tip-off about the literacy of their job applicants.
It's not that they don't know they don't meet the standards of knowing proper grammar, spelling, etc.
They are saying that it is racist that STANDARDS EXIST which they are EXPECTED TO MEET.
This is the end-game of affirmative action: that the entire concept of standards of competence disadvantages them, and therefore are, by definition, racist. They should just get a paycheck, and the employer and co-workers should shut up and not dare comment upon the quality of their work.
That's why it's so important for we conservatives to not use "progressive" in place of "Liberal", Socialist" or "Commie dictator SOBs". Similarly, we should not say "undocumented immigrant" instead of "illegal scumbag alien", or "gay" in place of "homosexual", or better yet, "vile, immoral, disgusting, disease-spreading homosexual".

Liberals in K through 12 automatically pass all people of color regardless of whether they learn anything or do any work. Then they get to college and find that there may actually be a few academic standards remaining. Liberals have already eliminated most of them.
They declare that anyone who upholds any academic standards or any requirement that they actually learn anything or do any academic work are racist. The liberals then automatically give in.
They will go on to get jobs through racial quotas where they will do little or nothing. Any one who attempts to get them to work will be labeled racist and lawsuits will be filed.
My guess is that they are bi-ignorant.
I love reading, but I hate writing. I hated Eng. 301, so I faked, slouched, and basically gave the perfesser a good reason to think I couldn't write well. Typical lib, he believed it, and graded what should have been an F or D final paper as a B. Sucker. I gave my all in my other classes (well, there was one other that was just as bad, but that's a whole other story), but I just couldn't perform for this guy. Wasn't happening.
Heads patted? In the old days it was considered good luck to pat a “colored” man’s head. Actually I think the stupid saying was “It will change your luck.” Now that’s one fact that IS racist.
The article is right about them not being educated. They can’t read or write or speak English when they first get to college. In my day if a kid was slow he was “passed on” to the next grade. Back then they didn’t have a lot of “special” schools. Unlike today, they figured if you were retarded there was no school that was going to fix it. But today, they’re back to “passing on” everyone.
