This is great news. We may be witnessing the beginning stages of the Article V convention process that will hopefully, someday be used successfully to restore America back to its founding principles. And its being led by Indiana State Senator David Long who is holding a gathering at Mt. Vernon with many other state senators to begin the process of figuring out how this will work.
Long explains below:
Listen:
It has begun!!:

From your source: The purpose of the Mount Vernon Assembly is to lay the groundwork for a Convention of the States that would, when established by Congress, propose amendments to change various provisions of the Constitution. The initial meeting won't actually consider potential amendment topics, Long said. It's intended to set up the rules to be followed if and when a constitutional convention is called.
ConventionofStates.com suggests the state legislatures pass identical resolutions that declare the purpose of the convention is to "limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government."
That way, Congress will not be constitutionally able to ignore calling a convention when two-thirds apply for one.
Repeal the 17th Amendment. Constitution fixed and power of the States restored.
They can then repeal the 19th Amendment just for the fun of it.
Term Limits also. Incumbency is by far the most corruptive influence in our entire political system.
When the LEFT realizes that this is actually happening, they will go ballistic. Congress should schedule the Con-Con in Fairbanks, Alaska in February.
No argument from me on term limits.
I didn’t think you’d have a problem with it.
Levin just posted this on Facebook... The Daily Kos is worried.... Good !
Nice to go from nobody important to the most dire threat the far left has ever faced.
As far as the election of senators is concerned, I doubt we will ever return to letting the state legislatures choose them (I’m not sure I trust them anyway). I’d rather allocate votes by districts won within the state.
Thanks for the ping!
Anyone hear how that meeting yesterday went?
