If I saw someone using a ballpean hammer on my neighbor’s porsche,
would I offer him a sledge hammer to do it more efficiently?

They offered ideas early on in the process. All of which were REJECTED by Reid and Pelosi.

There is no fixing a steaming turnd, you begin anew by making insurance portable across states without the minutae of state regulations. Unfortunately, our idiot “representatives” will crap a new turd.

Excellent vanity post! That is the proper response.

They passed it without Republican input or even a single republican vote; they can fix it without republican help. Call us when you’re ready to sh*tcan the whole thing and replace it with something people want.

so when the RATS begin sending us to our re-education / extermination camps, and they are not very successful at getting us to go, the Republicans should help them make the process go more smoothly, right?
To: Junk Silver
"Why aren't the Republicans at least trying to help fix Obamacare?"
Simple - Democrats created this mess, they can be the ones to clean it up.
And let's all remember - not a single Republican voted for ObamaDon'tCare - this is 100% a Democratic disaster.

Has the GOP ever fixed anything?
Outside of Cruz and Lee, has the GOP ever explained anything coherently? Ever?
No.
Expecting the GOP to do either of these things is kind of like expecting the sun to rise in the west.
They aren’t on our side.

The Republicans need to keep their hands off of it. If they go to tinkering around with it, THEY will get the blame when it collapses. It’s the DemocRATS’ mess. Let them own it.

Here is the snag is your “response”... You were not elected to represent some 650,000 people, you only have to act guided by your conscience, not a 200+ year old document, and your decision/actions only impact you and your neighbor, not 300+ million other people... It is impossible to “help” someone who thinks they have all the answers and refuses that help.

My response would be:
You don’t fix a sewage spill — you clean it up.
The ACA is totally bad policy, substituting government planners, compulsion, and regulation for the plain American virtues of free choice, liberty and sensible law. As such the fix is the repeal that the House has passed a half dozen times already and Democrats refuse to take up in the Senate.

What parts of Obamacare do you want to see “fixed”?
Which of the 16000 pages of regulations do you want to see improved?
Are you for more regulations to fix the existing ones?
Do you think the government should subsidize you so that you can afford the new rates you will be paying for the crappy insurance that is mandated?
Tell us, how can we improve Obamacare?

Besides being unconstitutional, Odunga-care is TOXIC.
There is a saying among the denizens of software development.
“You touch it, you own it.”
No sensible person with a view to a future in politics wants to be associated with this unconstitutional bill of enslavement, empoverishment, and destruction of modern medicine as we once knew it.

Because ObamaCare is not fixable.
The "fix" for healthcare in America is to undo the last 60 years of government tinkering with the free market doctor/patient relationship.
Good luck with that.
Most people are oblivious to the origin of the problems with the economic model of healthcare and how they have manifested over that span.
How did a huge pencil-pushing middleman become established in that economic model, to extract premiums and grudgingly dole out benefits, while also benefiting from the "float" to build skyscapers?
They only serve to increase the cost in a multitude of ways.
Then consider the parasitic nature of malpractice insurance/law-suits and the multitude of ways that government-protected revenue source for trial layers raises healthcare costs.
Und Tort Reform ist verboten.
As always government creates the problems, then rides in with move government solutions that only serve to make the situation even worse.

Sometimes, the only solution to fix something is to destroy it and start completely over.
For example, when your computer has a nasty virus (i.e. 0bamacare), the only solution is to completely erase your hard drive and start over.
