By now youve probably seen the video of a young woman nearly passing out during President Barack Obamas health care speech in the Rose Garden Monday.
And although she recovered quickly from her dizzy spell, and many have moved on from her story, heres a tiny but important detail you may not have heard about her: She is still not sure if she will enroll in Obamacare.
Her name is Karmel Allison. Shes from California. Shes pregnant. And she has Type I diabetes.
Although shes not sure whether shell switch over from her current plan, she says she likes having the option to do so.
Heres how the White House described Allison ahead of the speech:
"Karmel Allison was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was nine years old. She has stayed on the same insurance ever since, despite constantly rising costs, for fear she would not be able to find a plan that would cover her due to her pre-existing condition. Allison recently began researching her options on CoveredCA and has publically [sic] described her experience as finally feeling equal to others, including her young and healthy husband, when it comes to access to coverage."
Her Type I diabetes, which she was diagnosed with before she enrolled in her current plan, is considered by many insurers to be a pre-existing condition. And because her condition is considered pre-existing, she has spent the past few decades hesitant to switch plans for fear of losing coverage.
She even said she felt married to her current plan.
However, that may change because Obamacare makes it illegal to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions.
I had never actively looked for other coverage, because what I had was working, and the message I was getting from all the other insurance companies was, Why would we cover a Type 1 diabetic? Theres no obligation for us to do that. And were not going to do that for anything remotely close to affordable, Allison told Business Insider.
She is currently reviewing her options on CoveredCA.com, Californias exchange website.
When I went on the website, I wasnt even necessarily looking to purchase coverage, which is why it was kind of a shocking experience that I was touched by it, she said. My husband and I are reviewing our options, now that we have other options.
She wrote a blog post on October 7 describing her experience as a diabetic navigating the new Obamacare online exchanges. Her post was quickly picked up by several outlets and eventually made its way to the White House. Thats how she got an invite to Mondays Rose Garden event.
Im just very grateful to the President for all the work hes done to get this law enacted, and Im very grateful to the ADA for all they did to allow me to be here, and for all they do on a regular basis, Allison said.

to be a White House prop!
Most unlikely. The whole system is a basket case. The MSM is having a difficult time finding ANYONE who has signed up outside of new Medicaid enrolees.
She may not switch from her current plan , but it may switch from her.
Like anyone else’s current plan it is in danger of default.
The whole health care Insurance industry may fail.
That is the plan.
What was the important detail? We got lots of other stuff but no important detail.
She better not switch, someone said they didnt think ObamaCare plans covered her condition
Wonder how many tax dollars went to pay for her transportation from California and lodging in DC?
I imagine the other 10 were only there to pick up an autograph to hawk on ebay.
Everything is going according to the Obamarxists' plan.
90-95% of those actually signing up for a "plan" are the welfare group, Medicaid, who won't pay a cent for their health care.
Meanwhile "poster children" such as this woman, who most of us would agree probably deserves the help, are paraded out to represent ALL of the overweight, healthy indolent other 90% who give us the finger, and say, "thank you, taxpayers," because they can.
Why do you suppose the Obamarxists hid (welfare) Medicaid in Social Security? To be able to say that anyone who opposes continued support of the parasite class is out to destroy "Social Security!"
Which was impossible, since the "browsing" ability originally advertised for the web site was deleted as the main feature of the web site by whoever had the final word at Sebelius' office.
In other words, if you want to see what your options and costs are, you have to actually sign up for a plan first, sight unseen.
Sound familiar?
Think we'll ever find out who gave that order to cripple the web site?
Zohre Abolfazli isn't enrolled either. She was able to register on the site, but she did not sign up on an exchange.
“Think we’ll ever find out who gave that order to cripple the web site?”
I actually KNOW who this person is.
It is the same person who gave the go-ahead for the IRS to persecute the tea party, and the same person who denied extra security in Libya, and the same person who pushed selling the YouTube video story, and the person who decided that it was A-OK to spy on the AP, and to sell guns to people to distribute in Mexico, and to kick out veterans who were probably not going to be making a return trip there from their monuments and memorials. Yeah, it was THAT person. No, really.
Is she a Illegal Alien Invader from Mexico?
It's a wonder that she didn't give birth on the platform so that Obama could turn around just in time for a sensational catch.

I’ve been pregnant. A lot. I’ve fainted and nearly fainted on a number of occasions due to pregnancy and other issues. It does not go like that. She’s not a very good actress, is she?
What circumstances led to her being there?
She’s a prop, nothing more.
