Rove: Longer Holdout Means Weaker GOP
NewsMax ^ | 10/16/2013 | Greg Richter

Republican strategist Karl Rove says the GOP should quit while it's not as far behind as it could be.

Appearing Tuesday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record," Rove said Republicans fighting for concessions on Obamacare and entitlements are weakening their position the longer they hold out.

"At some point you have to focus on, as Ronald Reagan said, getting as much of the pie as you possibly can get," Rove said.

Republicans aren't even going to be able to get 80 percent of what they want now, he said, because they have been weakened over the last two months by fighting for something that was impossible to get: defunding Obamacare.

"And the longer this goes on, the less leverage they have," Rove said.

That's one reason Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., "threw the ball to them" and stopped Senate discussions, Rove said. Reid knew Republicans couldn't get together on a bill, he said, and wanted to weaken them further.

House Speaker John Boehner presented a bill early Tuesday that would have funded the government through mid-January and extended the debt ceiling through mid-February while talks continued, but he was unable to muster enough support to pass it.

A scheduled Tuesday night vote was called off.

Weaken the repulican party or the RINO club? Carl rove is his biggest fan and he proved in 2012 that he does not have a clue who the base is.

A caller this morning to the William Bennett show said she was tired of hearing establishment Republicans tell Cruz, et al. what they should have done.

"Don't should on us," she said.

Good one.

A google search found the phrase used a few times dating back to the 1990s (golly I remember when we talked about the 1890s.)

.. anyway this google search of FR
site:www.freerepublic.com "don't should on"
found just one thread that contains it.

The first time I heard “don’t should on us” was from the pulpit. I had to clean my ears out! He even said it as much like what you might expect on purpose. Good one.

Rove and Romney STOLE all the money contributed to the GOP
for conservatives. They stole it moments before Romney
finally gave up (before admitting he never even tried).

I remember quite clearly, what Tokyo Rove did to Christine O'Donnell while she was giving her acceptance speech after winning a Delaware primary.

The Republican party is not as far AHEAD as it could be, Karl. Each day that the House holds off the communist democrat party is a plus for this Republic. Exactly what is the upside of continuing to facilitate the traitors now in control of our country? The tea party is gathering strength as concerned and watchful citizens of America absorb the horror of the communist exercise of power over the entire govt and population of our country. Each member of the House won their election and have the duty and obligation to exercise their judgment about how to serve their constituents and country. Karl Rove is the go between for liberal republicans and communist democrats who have designs of their own on the future of this Republic. My position regarding the future of the Republican party is to let the chips fall, the sooner the better. The Tea Party is alive and well. The Republican party is sick and needs their help. Full speed ahead for all of the opposition to Obama and the hordes of confederates and fellow travelers now entrenched in our government.

“I turned off Greta’s show last night. She has too much Rove, Linda, and Juan on there for my liking.”

I bet that FNC tracks, and knows these goons like Rove and Colmes cause channels to change. But they will continue to put these losers in our face.

They say fair and balanced. I say they are supposed to be the balance. I can get lefties on every other news channel. I do not need them on Fox.

Rove is a well paid Shill for the Establishment RINO's and I suspect some DEMS agenda. What's good for Snake Oil Karl's bank account isn't usually good for Conservatism or our nation for that matter.

Somehow this comes to mind.

Gov't Knows Best? White House creates 'nudge squad' to shape behavior

Fall in behind Obama, conservatives. Oh.. and one more thing for you conservative talk show hosts, you should know that listeners are turning off the radio when you start talking politics and criticizing Obama. The media consultants at the White House and the DNC know best. So do your own Fairness Doctrine and shut the hell up!

Just obey the political class and everything will be hunky-dory.

Roes only goal in life is to profit from politics. He doesn’t give a shit who win or loses and principle to him is the guy who whooped his ass in grade school(sp notwithstanding).

I mean really what is the sense of having a majority if they are simply Obama tools?

The situation is a disaster and can’t be fixed because even though republicans control the house there is a working majority who will do whatever Jefe wants them to do.

Anyone care to comment about Karl Rove?

Karl Rove has done more to undermine the long-term prospects of the Republican Party, than any other man in either party over the past 30 years. His strategy in 2000 turned what should have been a rout into a cliff-hanger. His strategy from 2000 to 2006, led to the Democrats recapturing Congress. His strategy in 2012. literally wasted $300,000,000, that could have made the difference between what happened, and what might have happened.

The man has a good memory, but the analytic ability of lichen on a rock.

For analysis of Rove as a "pundit," "expert," or whatever, see Dysron, Quack or Mole?.

Karl Rove, Revisited.

Republican Disaster.
