Chicago has just been reeling from a spate of ongoing gang related violence – especially the recent shootings in the 'Back of the Yards' section of the city. Democrats and progressives don't call the violence gang violence, they opportunistically refer to it as 'gun violence', implying that the absence of guns would equate to the absence of violence. That's a false equivalency, but it's one that they adhere to regardless of the actual facts. Yet, we now have a leading Democrat in the state of Illinois, who despite himself, has basically admitted that the answer for 'gun violence' is … more guns!
Gov. Pat Quinn says he would consider using state resources to help combat Chicago street violence, but only if city officials want the assistance. What sort of 'state resources' does Pat Quinn contemplate mobilizing? Community organizers? No. What then? The State Police and or the Illinois National Guard.
I've conceived of an analog to the gun related crime problem, by looking at an inconvenient truth from the world of animals – the relationship between cats and rodents. It appears to be an apt metaphor, but probably one that progressives will find loathsome. So be it. In any event, I think you will find that the substance of the problem and its solution point up the pitiful lack of intellectual honesty and comprehension of reality of gunophobes.

Then I did a search, so I could use the names of the two major Chicago gangs in my wiseass comments....
And the first half page of search results were websites, personal ones, government sponsored ones, and academic ones, all GLORIFYING Chicago's gangs and saying how wonderful and culturally rich they make Chicago, and how badly misunderstood they are by us rubes from flyover country.
This, in a nutshell, is why Chicago is doomed to destruction, by tribal warfare, by the two legged equivalent of rats. When the ones who should be trying to stop the gang violence, by education, or by force of law, instead embrace gang culture.

Apparently the counting of homicides by the cops has changed. Now if a wounded perp/vic leaves the scene alive but shortly thereafter dies, it doesn't count.
BLACK VIOLENCE.

Where whites have higher concentrations of guns, there is nowhere near the violence.

Thank God that I was not brought up in that kind of culture.
It is a gang problem, and it is a black problem, and trying to make it a gun problem accomplishes nothing but distracting the attention of fools while the country falls into criminal anarchy.

Miltie, that is a substantial aspect of the situation there and nationally also. Gang activity involves statistically Blacks and Latinos. I didn’t incorporate that aspect because you weave too many threads, the key narrative becomes a little harder to follow.
But on my site, Blasted Fools, among the categories (CAT-A-GORE-Eees) - sorry, can’t help it. Anyway, one of the categories is Racial Identity Politics, which contains a series of reports I wrote on Black on White violence that fits the ‘hate crime’ classification, but the municipal authorities are too dishonest to label as such.

I’m both a Dog AND a Cat person. They both add happiness to my life. But point taken about fewer being more proper English. However - do you want good looks, good grammar or good taste? Pick any two. :-)
