A director at the Homeland Security agency charged with immigration enforcement has publicly guaranteed that illegal aliens arrested by local police and reported to the feds wont automatically be deported.
It may seem preposterous but this is reality in the Obama Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The story comes out of King County in Washington State. Under a federal agreement virtually all illegal aliens held at the county jail are put on immigration holds for up to 48 hours. This presumably gives federal authorities the opportunity to initiate deportation procedures.
But lawmakers in the sprawling Puget Sound county of about 2 million residents are considering an ordinance that would limit the number of immigration detainers. One county councilman explains why in a local news report. Every major immigrant and refugee and minority community in the entirety of King County has written us and said, Will you please try to put the brakes on what ICE is able to do?

Police Chief Greg Suhr said the legislation could make San Francisco a destination for violent criminals and expose The City to violent crime by those currently held under the existing policy. The Sheriff's Department policy -- which builds on former Sheriff Michael Hennessey's Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer exemptions -- is to hold people who are in custody on suspicion of a serious and violent felony, such as murder or rape, for up to 24 hours. The policy also includes honoring holds for people who have previous convictions for serious felonies.
The legislation, introduced by Supervisor John Avalos, would prohibit The City from honoring all immigration holds, or detainers, that are part of a controversial federal program called Secure Communities, or S-Comm.

In a July 22 letter, Public Defender Jeff Adachi praised the legislation, saying it would "not lead to violent criminals being turned loose onto our streets."
"Those who are convicted of serious crimes, with very few exceptions, remain in custody despite the [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] hold being removed due to high bails, and many are sentenced to state prison," Adachi said.
Here is your hope and change..By 2016 an illegal alien might well be sitting in the white house running the country at this rate. These supporters worship these illegals like they are Gods and can do no wrong.would "not lead to violent criminals being turned loose onto our streets..that is until they are released back onto the streets again..as the poor illegal who is now rehab and wants that better life one more time.
Wasnt it Washington state where that little 15 yo girl from TX was raped and murdered by illegal aliens ???
one held her on the floor and raped her while the other pressed on her throat with his booted foot and killed her...
Does the ICE director need a dictionary? What about “illegal” doesn’t he understand? Maybe he only speaks spanglish.
Yeah-—and howzabout that latino Washington rapist who had 30 identities......each identity voting and riding the US gravy train.
Wait. Weren't we told in the aftermath of Prop 187 that no one but the Federal government can make a law regarding immigration, and that this was why the Will of People had to be S**tcanned?
New Law, Democrats - Liberals - Progressives must remove the locks from all exterior doors on their Homes.
Furthermore, those same individuals must always leave their car keys in the ignition, no matter where they park them.
maybe when Ted Cruz gets elected he’ll reverse and put on the fast track in deportations. Hiring Federals to deport the illegals is the only government spending increase I’d approve.
So then, what do we need to be paying your salary for?
Yes I remember, Countryman, that was her name...
It was so awful...unbelievable...sickening
there was a thread or 2 here at the time.,.
