Ideally, handguns, which account for more than half of all homicides in the United States, should be banned completely, but we recognize that this is not currently politically feasible, wrote Dr. Karl P. Adler in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). (1)
For years the confiscationist left have fought a losing battle in their attempt to repeal the rights of 100 million American gun owners. Even with the benefit of what dedicated gun grabbers undoubtedly considered a God-sendthe brutal murder of 20 children in Newtown, Massthe right to keep and bear arms has been so jealously guarded and the intentions of gun control advocates so mistrusted that no significant legislation could be passed.
For this reason Barack Obama has decided to remove 2nd Amendment rights from the realm of politics and constitutional guarantee by transforming the question of gun violence into an issue of public health.
On January 26th, Obama issued...

Hasn’t this already been tried? There’s nothing new under the sun, especially with gun grabbers.
Ridiculous. Coach has lost it again. Then again he never has it to begin with.
He continues to set up shadow governments so finger prints are almost impossible to determine.
Now, all those “czars” ? They are his defacto legislature, there by by-passing the Constitutionally* elected one.
*save for voter fraud.
I'm not buying this one..
I cant help but wonder what what conclusion the esteemed Dr. Adler draws from the fact that black males account for more than half of all homicides in the United States.
Actually, guns have been a “health” issue ever since the Feds started putting their oars in at the time Hillarycare was being proposed.
When I have my annual checkup, I have to turn in a form that asks me numerous questions, including whether I smoke, how much I drink, whether I have throw rugs in the house, and whether I have any guns in the house.
The gun question was clearly connected to the persistent liberal efforts to ban guns, one step at a time.
My doctor is a very good guy, but I think these questions are mandated. And they are required to submit the results on-line to the gubbermint.
My days of civility are over I would tell my doctor to eat shiite and die, none of your business.
“In short, as firearm violence becomes an issue for the healthcare community, guns become elements of disease, deadly pathogens which place the public at risk. And being a disease causing agent, the guns effects must be controlled by the medical bureaucracy with a clear objective of stamping out the source itself.”
So I assume the CDC will be working to eradicate the following deadly pathogens: automobiles, buckets, toilets, bathtubs, baseball bats, hammers, chainsaws, reciprocating says and swimming pools.
They always find a way that normal people would never suspect.
The end goal is to take all guns from honest, law-abiding, non-violent people and deliberately leave them in the hands of violent criminals.
Very Soviet.
The Soviets used their socilized medicine to imprison political prisoners. “you no like Obama?” “YOU CRAZY! Go to this camp!”
Oh, it’s just us nasty paranoid guncrazy rightwingers who think Obamacare will turn your family physician into a government spy.
Wait a sec - patients’ responses are uploaded online? And failure to answer the gun questions could result in “this patient displayed a hostile attitude” being noted?
I think we’re already there.
If they want to get all the guns they will have to repeal the 2nd. No ifs, ands or buts. They can't so that so they try this. Four words from me: "I will not comply."
Exactly. Logically, if guns accounting for half of all homicides requires a complete ban, then blacks accounting for half of all homicides requires the same right?
Will not comply.
And yeah, I’m more than ready to start shooting morons over this.
Enough is enough.
Actually I understand that this effort backfired, with reports showing the opposite of intended conclusions.
But, but, but...
Newtown, Mass
I think the doctors are required to ask, but how can we be required to answer???
