Big labor finally getting the shaft from Democrat politicians

It seems big labor is getting nervous about anticipated disastrous effects on the healthcare benefits of union membership by Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act. So nervous are they in fact that James P. Hoffa and organized labor comrades Joseph Hansen and Don Taylor addressed their concerns in personal letter form to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, a clear break from the more conventional late night exchange of cash and instructions so common between labor kingpins and Democrat politicians.

“We can no longer stand silent in the face of elements of the Affordable Care Act that will destroy the very health and well-being of our members,” wrote the 3 union bosses to leaders of the political party to which organized labor donated some $800 million in 2008 and $700 million two years later. (1) “Congress wrote this law; we voted for you. We have a problem; you need to fix it.” Though Hoffa didn’t specifically include, “When we buy politicians, we expect ‘em to STAY bought,” the implication was clear enough. (1)

Four years ago there were...

Now, they are just idiots.

No doubt they see the “solution” to be carving out an exemption for themselves and to hell with the rest of us.

This is only temporary, I assure you. Exemptions and modifications will be added into Obamacare to make the unions happy.

But in the meantime the GOP ought to reach out to the unions and try to form some sort of anti-Obamacare alliance. But the GOP had better be quick about it.

Well said, Vigilanteman! I wonder which holds its value better: Chevrolet Volts, or sycophants.

It’s only big private sector labor that’s getting the shaft. I seriously doubt that the government employee unions will be hurt by Obamacare. The private sector unions have never had any interest in common with the government employee unions, inb fact they should be at cross purposes. But, they seem to be too stoopid to realize it. Well, Stoopid SHOULD be painful.

Which is why they appear to be positioning themselves to form a third American Labo(u)r Party.

Attention, Tea Partiers....wouldn’t we rather be America’s Third Party than it’s fourth?

LOL! That would require a shred of political acumen from the Republicans.

Political acumen. FROM the Republicans.

Think about it for a second.

Remember the good old days, when there were such things as Reagan democrats? I'd like to see something like that return today.

Sure, most of the union leadership is hopelessly corrupt and greedy. There is no reaching them. And as you said, you probably wouldn't want them on your side anyway.

But many rank-and-file union members would be conservative if they just thought about it for a moment. Those folks want a safe neighborhood for their kids to grow up in. They support a strong military. and they don't like paying high taxes to support welfare bums.

Oh, and they are no fan of unrestricted immigration.

The GOP has lost the propaganda war with regards to the union rank-and-file. It is worth trying to get * some * of those votes back.

One more election cycle like 2008-2012 and this country is done.

We don’t have to deal with corrupt union thugs to get the everyday union vote. this is the ideal time to show up these people for what they are....not become democrat light.....leave that to rinos!!!
